4.0Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art(303 reviews) - Well worth the stop Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Art Galleries • Art Museums • History Museums
We invite you to enjoy all that makes our museum unique: the artists, the architecture, the history, and the landscape. The Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art celebrates the innovative, independent, and creative spirit of our namesake, Mississippi master potter George Ohr - "The Mad Potter of Biloxi." In a fitting tribute to Ohr, artist and architect Frank Gehry designed an award winning campus of bold, intriguing, and self sufficient structures. These buildings and the exhibits therein offer visitors separate but not isolated experiences - together creating a single unified vision connected by the expansive brick plaza and the majestic Live Oaks. Just have one day? Come see art exhibits that exemplify the creative spirit of George Ohr and the Southeastern US. Stay a bit longer and enjoy taking ceramics classes in our expansive ceramics studio. Stay for good and become a member to experience all that the museum has to offer - including events that enrich and educate our coastal community.See more..
4.5Cat Head Delta Blues & Folk Art(268 reviews) - The Cat’s Pajamas ! Saturday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Speciality & Gift Shops • Art Galleries
CAT HEAD is Mississippi's blues store in Clarksdale since 2002 — and your first stop for 'live' music info and more! "It's like shopping in a juke joint. It's the store I always wanted to walk into but could never find," according to owner-operator Roger Stolle. (Stolle moved to Clarksdale to "help organize and promote the blues from within.") The rustic hundred-year-old building is packed with blues, Mississippi, Southern and Clarksdale souvenirs and favorites — including CDs, vinyl LPs, DVDs, books, T-shirts, hats, barware, artwork and much more. Customers can also shop CAT HEAD's large Web Store at www.cathead.biz. Clarksdale, Mississippi, features 'live' blues music 365 days a year. Stolle tracks (and facilitates) it, so can tell where to go, who to hear and what to see. He's also produced blues films and CDs — plus written two books, "Hidden History of Mississippi Blues" and "Mississippi Juke Joint Confidential. Musicians sometimes play out front CAT HEAD store for tips.See more..

Visitors will witness the freedom struggle in eight interactive galleries that show the systematic oppression of black Mississippians and their fight for equality that transformed the state and nation. Seven of the galleries encircle a central space called This Little Light of Mine. There, a dramatic sculpture glows brighter and the music of the Movement swells as visitors gather.See more..
We stopped in to look at the Artwork which was interesting, beautiful, mostly regional but very diverse. His prices were reasonable. Talked to the owner and made a friend! His studio doubles as a intimate listening venue for live bands that play there every Tuesday night at 8:00 pm. We plan to go back when there's a band playing and to look at more of his Artwork! Definitely worth a visit!See more..
