The best part of the museum— aside from the amazing number of interesting artifacts— is Mr. Tony Lute. Friendly and courteous, Mr. Lute seems to know about everything in the museum, but he doesn’t overwhelm you with talk—- just makes himself available to answer any questions , tell an interesting story, or drop an amazing fact. We are senior citizens who took a 13 year old boy and 7 year old girl. Both of them enjoyed the museum so much, and, of course, we did. Everyone should visit! See more..

turned off of RT 49 on Civil Rights Journey to see see Boyle Country Store, the beginning of that awful day of Emmett Till's murder. Decided to head over to museum to learn more and glad we did. Small place deep in the Delta operated by people dedicated to sharing the true stories of people living there now and before. There is so much that happened in the south that I never learned in school. Was glad to meet Mayor Johnny B Thomas who worked to open museum as his work to advocate for truth and justice is inspiring. Our week of traveling through the south has come to an end and I feel we only scratched the surface of learning about the struggles, resilience, and courage of African Americans. See more..
