    Best tour of the day
We toured four homes while we were in Natchez, and this one had the BEST tour. Park Ranger Barney Schoby was our tour guide and did a great job. He knew a lot about the history of this house and this period in history, plus he was funny and entertaining. He kept us on the edge of our toes though the entire tour. I now have a much better understanding about Melrose House, Natchez history, and the Civil War. It is very important that we protect and keep these historical sites. They are very helpful for helping us understand our history.

    RV trip
Owned by the National Park Service and FREE tours were conducted hourly but limited to 10 people so making this your 1st stop of the day and get your names on the list for one of the tours. Like the Rosalie Mansion, the Melrose Mansion is furnished with most items original to the house. It is very grand inside and the ranger leading our tour was excellent.
