4.5Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk(1.990 reviews) - So much to do! Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Piers & Boardwalks
What a beautiful boardwalk! Our hotel was on the boardwalk so we literally stepped of the hotel and right on to it. There are SO many things to do on the boardwalk-you would need a day just to enjoy it! Masks are mandatory on the boardwalk at all times. You can ride bikes on it only during certain hours (I believe it was 6-10am). Every restaurant and shop was open so you were able to really enjoy the experience. If you have small children or do not like crowds, I would encourage you to go in the morning or late evenings. If you love to workout out-it is the perfect place to run! Perfect place for couples of all ages and for families to enjoy. I have been to many boardwalks but this one is a new favorite.See more..

Very nice clean, dog and family friendly but small. Parking was meters or kiosk from 10 am to 11 pm every day. Best bet was to go to the state park beaches with fixed 10.00/ car per day. We went to several. Also not enough restaurants in the area. They were overwhelmed and were not even able to offer take out.See more..

Sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay, this quaint town is popular with the younger crowd and home to numerous excellent bars and brewpubs with live music and great food. In summer, look forward to activities like outdoor movie screenings and community bonfires in addition to jetski rentals and guided kayak excursions. The surf tends to be rough, but the beach is dog-friendly, and the small-town charm and relaxed vibe on offer during the quieter seasons draws couples and families from wide and far. The busier Rehoboth Beach is only a stone’s throw away. – TripadvisorSee more..
4.5Lewes Beach(537 reviews) - Nice beach for families Beaches
Stopped by the beach the other day for our first trip of the 2021 season since it was a warm early May day. Metered parking started May 1st, so we had to pay the centralized parking meter at a rate of $2 per hour. You can access parking via the Park Mobile app. The beach and parking lot were nearly empty, so we were able to easily secure parking and a beach blanket spot near the water. On this day we enjoyed building sand castles, digging in the sand, searching for sea shells, watching the seagulls and watching the ferry go in & out of port. We didn't see much live wildlife this visit other than the seagulls. We found lots of dead calico crabs, some dead horseshoe crabs and even a dead fish. Not sure what that was all about because we usually don't see a bunch of dead sea life. We did not actually swim in the water on this day though. It was a little early in the season to actually get into the water although we did dip out toes in the water and it was chilly. Lifeguards were not on duty yet since they don't start until around Memorial Day weekend. However, the beach restrooms were already open and the outdoor sprinkler poles were on for rinsing off your feet/body. Overall, we enjoyed our first trip to Lewes Beach for the season. This is a great beach for families with small kids. The sand is generally soft although you can still get lucky and find little gems like beach pebbles and seashells. There are little to no waves, so great for young kids that are afraid of big waves and getting knocked down. We enjoy this beach. There are 2 separate parking lots and 2 separate bath/restrooms. One of the parking lots has a snack shack and is adjacent to a DQ should you find yourself hungry while on the beach!See more..
4.5Bethany Beach Boardwalk(481 reviews) - Don't expect Ocean City's Boardwalk. It's a wholly different vibe Saturday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM Hiking Trails
The free weekend concerts charge the area with excitement and sound against a sunset backdrop. They pack people in with great bands who listen to great free music while eating ice cream cones at sunset. Believe me, it's as terrible as it sounds... I fish right off the boardwalk in the mornings and watch the pelicans fly in formation as dolphins cruise the shoreline. Once I've assured myself that there are no fish in the ocean, I pack up, stopping at the donut shop right there for fresh, made to order AMAZING donuts, then head back to the rental and tell lies about all the fish I caught. It really is the hub of our vactions down here...small, but packed with hidden gems. It isn't Ocean City, and thankfully, at least to me, doesn't want to be eitherSee more..

4.5Gordons Pond(358 reviews) - Great biking, lovely views! Bodies of Water
Just a short bike ride from the end of the Rehoboth boardwalk, this is a really nice trail that totals about 10 miles round trip from Rehoboth Beach center of town, where we rented our bikes. We rode in the end of September when the weather was comfortable. It would be quite hot in the summer, as there are long stretches with very little shade. We loved it. The riding is easy on mostly fine gravel trails, with a nice long section of "boardwalk," a metal bridge-type structure that's fun to ride on. You can stop at a WWII observation tower and visit Fort Miles, an old Army fort with a small museum (we didn't go in) and some pretty impressive artillery guns to check out outside. There are benches here and there and at least one water fountain along the way. This ride was one of the highlights of our visit.See more..
4.5Hopkins Farm Creamery(310 reviews) - Great ice cream! Saturday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Farms
I read about Hopkins on Trip Advisor so thought we’d check it out. They had a very efficient drive thru process and there was a steady stream of cars going in. I got cappuccino delight and my husband got salted caramel crunch; both delicious! The cows were just coming in when we got there so we saw a lot of movement at the barn. Definitely worth going out of your way for it but super easy to get to.See more..
4.0Harrington Raceway & Casino(295 reviews) - Another satisfied player Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Casinos
Despite any complaints you have heard or can make, Harrington gives good value for your gaming dollar. Unlike other tristate venues, it does not have a "corporate feel" that can ruin the gaming experience. Playing comps are ok, most table games get full fast. Decent parking and free Pepsi machines (Pepsi seems to be a Delaware casino thing). Spanish 21 is offered but not always open. For safety reasons post-COVID the wonderful buffet is gone. Live entertainment and a friendly vibe set it apart from other venues.See more..
4.5Glasgow Park(260 reviews) - The Mountain at Glasgow Parks
Glasgow Park is a family park where the entire family can have fun. Not to mention the trail is definitely a peaceful time for me to walk and be one with nature.See more..
4.0Jungle Jim's(251 reviews) - Great weekday activity for the family! Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Amusement & Theme Parks
We brought our two boys here (ages 5 and 6) on a cloudy weekday. It was a wonderful time, despite the fact that the park had to temporarily close a few times due to thunder and lightning (we just used this as an opportunity to take a break and check out the nearby outlets until they re-opened). The park was well-staffed and clean and the lines for the most popular waterslides were short and fast-moving. There were lots of waterslides to chose from and plenty of tubes for the lazy river. The lockers were reasonable priced and the snack bar food was decent. We will definitely return to this park.See more..
4.5Grand Opera House(232 reviews) - A Great Asset to Wilmington Saturday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Operas • Architectural Buildings • Theaters
We come to the Grand often for shows and in pre-Covid times we were subscribers. We e seen traveling music acts, comedy shows, Delaware Orchestra, Wilmington Ballet, and Opera Delaware. The space is beautiful and historic. There is parking only a block away and the theater and restrooms are always clean. We love the variety and quality of different shows that come to our little city.See more..

As an avid trail rider, this was just the thing I needed to get off the beaten path at the beach and I managed to do 18 miles thanks to another reviewer’s expert advice. Do yourself a favor and check it out. It was so easy to follow signage from Lewes public libretto to downtown Rehoboth and then back up through Henlopen acres through Gordon’s Pond and up Rt. 9 to Lewes again. Flat terrain, some shade and incredible views. Make sure you leave time for a stop at Whiskey Beach. It’s gorgeous!See more..
This park is a great place for a quick pit stop or a full day of activities. The pond is scenic and peaceful, never crowded, but never empty either. You can’t swim in the pond, but boating and fishing is allowed. You can also rent kayaks or paddle boats. Outside the pond, there are hiking trails, camping and picnic areas, playgrounds for kids, fields for various sports, and even a disc golf course. Perhaps best of all, there’s even an adventure park! It does cost extra to get into, but it’s awesome, so worth it if you have the time/budget to spare. It has zip lines, a sort of modified bungee jump, tree top obstacle courses... It’s just a ton of fun.See more..
4.5Battery Park(196 reviews) - Peaceful walk by the salty sea Parks
This is a beautiful walk close to New Castle's historic district. Stopped in New Castle for a leg rest mid-way through a drive not knowing quite what I'd find besides the history of the first state. This is a perfect walk, nicely paved and maintained, just on the water. You can smell the salty air or walk a little further and find shade tree-lined clearings. Even though it is fairly busy, there are moments where you can be all to yourself and it is simply peaceful. Walked for about an hour, then headed to see the rest of the town. See more..
4.5Fenwick Island State Park(194 reviews) - love the place, can't see going anywhere else. State Parks
best beach, they have a sand net that lets older folks get to the water. people are great, they have beaches were you can bring your dogs, and the dogs are very nice. I should not recommend Fenwick, it is to cool, would hate too see it become over priced, with to many people.See more..

On the east side of the bridge you can go on the beach and hang out. There is a sidewalk that goes from the east side of the bridge and extends all the way down quite a distance to the west and a great place to go fishing. This is a popular place during the summer months and a great place for taking pictures and it’s also nice at night when the bridge lights up in blue. Please bring your family as there is a restaurant adjacent to the bridge with good food and good music.See more..

4.5White Clay Creek State Park(162 reviews) - Popular hiking and nature-lovers' destination. Saturday: State Parks
We come here most often approaching from the Delaware side but we also use Pennsylvania as our base. Some trails here span more than one state. Each time we choose a different route and it is always interesting hike. The park is quite extensive and the nature here is lush and beautiful. This time we enjoyed again the Tri-State Trail and Mason Dixon Trails. Tri-state monument is a popular landmark. In Delaware there is a park fee one needs to pay. Out of state it is $8.See more..
This is one of the best museums I have ever been to and I have travelled to some of the best museums around the world. It is small but mighty, particularly if you live within a few states of Delaware as it will speak to you on a personal level. One factor that made our visit so exceptional was that the owner was on site. The diverse and exquisite exhibits held their own, but with the owner on site to point out special items and provide background stories added priceless dimension to items that might have otherwise been passed with glancing interest. Do not miss this museum. It is a true gem.See more..

I have been a Delaware resident since the day I was born, many, many years ago. We drove to Rehoboth, we drove to Dewey, we drove to Lewes. We went to the BEACH! Now,in my older years, I am discovering places I never appreciated. Coming home from a few days in Lewes, we decided to find Prime HookRefuge. It is not easy if you are using GPS. It took us to Prime Hook Beach, but no refuge in sight. You actually have to drive to Broadkill Beach to find the entrance. Not a lot to see, at least today there was not, but the lady in the office was beyond lovely and very helpful. We walked a short path, I am on a Bald eagle hunt. No luck today, but it was so quiet and peaceful and beautiful that I am glad that we found it. We will go back and I will find an elusive eagle!!!!See more..
My 6 & 10 yr old grandsons loved this park. We got the 4-hour pass and they spent all the time. There isn’t a lot for teens/adults-only 2 slides big enough for older kids. There’s a nice lazy river, 3 smaller slides, a tipping bucket/ship, along with a 0-entry pool and splash pad area. Staff was friendly and seemed well staffed with the life guards. It’s a relatively small park, but perfect for the 12 & under crowd. We were there on a Sunday in July and I was surprised it never got crowded; plenty of chairs and shaded area. The park was clean, as well. Appreciated their military discount.See more..
4.0New Castle Farmer's Market(118 reviews) - UNIQUE and YUMMY jumble of farmers market and flea market Saturday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Flea & Street Markets
We love this place, it's a perfect stop between NYC and DC but it is not your typical farmers market. So this is a mix of traditional farmers market vendors like meat and baked goods and a crazy mix of international shops and discount stalls. We LOVE the Stotzfus area which has meat and baked goods and juices. They have every pie and lemonade you can dream of. We also like the other butcher near the front and got an EXCELLENT thanksgiving bird for a great price. The ice cream shop was closed this week, but it has tropical/latin unique flavors, popsicles, and my favorite ice cream sandwich. Finally the mexican restaurant and elote stand is also a fave. I like the especial tacos. I have bought veggies here, but the veggie and fruit market seems to be mostly a discount place, you wont find fancy heirloom tomatoes. Some reviews call the market dirty or shabby, we kind of love it for what it is, even if the first time we visited it was a surprise.See more..
4.5Old State House(117 reviews) - Very nice tour Saturday: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM Government Buildings
The original State House goes back to 1791 and has had many uses over the years. In 1976 it was restored back to its original appearance. You don't need a reservation to get a tour, just show up 10-15 minutes in advance. You see three rooms, the lower floor as well as two rooms upstairs. The tour guide was very informative and gave lots of history of Delaware as well as the building, including the various Constitutions of Delware as well as how the boundaries and territorial changes that made Delaware to the state it is today.See more..

This winery is extremely unique, as it has many artifacts and historic exhibits about winemaking. Walking to the tasting room is an experience in itself, as the walls are lined with facts and interesting historic artifacts. In the tasting room, you can see where they make the wine which added to the vibe. Our server was fantastic, offering us 6 delicious wines with amazing descriptions.
