Fenwick Island State Park, Delaware, United States

4.5 (194 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Fenwick Island State Parks

love the place, can't see going anywhere else.

best beach, they have a sand net that lets older folks get to the water. people are great, they have beaches were you can bring your dogs, and the dogs are very nice. I should not recommend Fenwick, it is to cool, would hate too see it become over priced, with to many people.

    We are Fenwick Converts
This past weekend was actually my husband and I's first trip to this beach even though we've been coming to Delaware beaches our whole lives and we might just be Fenwick converts. We went two days in a row on our most recent trip because we loved it so much. A quiet beach with easy parking, not too bad of a dune walk to get to the water, and plenty of room to spread out. People can also bring their dogs. My husband likes to swim and surf and the waves at Fenwick did not disappoint. We loved that it was so empty compared to other beaches like Cape Henlopen or Rehoboth town beach. We will be back for sure!

    The Quietest Beach in Delaware
I live in Wilmington and Fenwick Island State Park is the furthest beach in Delaware from me but I always make the drive and pass the other beaches to go there. Fenwick Island State Park is right at the bottom South-east Corner of Delaware, right on the border with Maryland. It is a State Park so you need to pay $4 if you live in Delaware or $6 if you are from out of state to park. It is the quietest beach I have been to in Delaware, likely because Ocean City, MD is only 15 minutes down the road. I usually go during the week and I've never seen it crowded. There is a bathhouse where you can shower before you leave. There is an indoor concession building but I've never tried the food or seen the prices. There is a lifeguard and if you swim, there are two flags on the beach that you need to swim between. I've never seen great waves at any of the beaches in Delaware, however. Nothing like the Jersey Shore. When you're done, Rehoboth is only 30 minutes North and Ocean City,MD is only 15 minutes South.
