  1. 3.5 Delaware Park (293 reviews)
    - Very nice visit
Spent 2-3 hours Casinos • Horse Tracks
    Delaware Park image
Well I was really surprised at how well they did with the temperature scanning which flowed so well. The place had alot of hand sanitizer. and staff always kept the atm's, ticket redemption machines and machine cleaned. Was very comfortable in there especially , this being the first place to be in outside of a grocery stire since covid-19 I commend them on the way they really has handled everything with cleanliness and sanitation. My favorite restaurant " On a roll" had a limited menu but did have my favorites. Very different look with only a third of the slot machines on but still was nice. Also the area to play the horses was great proper distancing and the tellers kept line flowing well. Look forward to my next visit there. See more..

  4. 3.5 Fenwick Island Lighthouse (102 reviews)
    - Well maintained
    Lighthouses
    Fenwick Island Lighthouse image
It’s a nice and well maintained light house that unfortunately was industrialized around it. It’s smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood and trailer park and has power lines right in front of it. Still is a beautiful lighthouse to stop and see if you are in the area. See more..
  5. 3.5 Bear Trap Dunes (65 reviews)
    - Families Renting Here - BEWARE OF POOL POLICY
Saturday: 6:30 AM - 10:00 PM Golf Courses
    Bear Trap Dunes image
Bear Trip Dunes is a modern, amenity rich community where families with children may rent condos or homes for vacation. Like us, proximity to the beautiful Bethany Beach, combined with Bear Trap's on-site amenities (pools, gym, tennis, beach shuttle and golf) make this an ideal spot for a family vacation. One can rent a home or condo either through individual owners and/or through a corporate entity. Once here, renters/visitors must purchase a $40 per-person per-week pass (not pro-rated by the day) to use the aforementioned amenities (with additional costs for golf). However, what we did NOT know before coming Bear Trap Dunes is the POOL POLICY. Families with children under 18 should be aware of the following pool policy. EVERY HOUR, ADULT SWIM IS PROVIDED FOR 15 MINUTES. FOR THE LAST 15 MINUTES OF THE HOUR, ALL PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST EXIT THE POOL. The lifeguards routinely enforce the policy, which we wish we had known. Families who do not expect to spend their days at the beach should consider this policy carefully. While a boon to adults, this is difficult for young children who wish to spend the day at the pool. See more..
  6. 3.5 Pickering Beach (56 reviews)
    - A typical bay beach
    Beaches
    Pickering Beach image
Pickering beach is a typical Delaware beach. I see a lot of bad reviews . It's really not fair to compare a bay beach to a Oceanside beach. Pickering has small to non existent waves. Bay beaches are more for boating, kayaking, fishing and relaxing.swimming is iffy. Some days it's clean and other days it's murky. When the wind comes from the East there's no flys. When it comes from the East it blows in flys and mosquitoes. This I noticed is typical of all Delaware bay beaches. See more..
  7. 3.5 Killens Pond Water Park (52 reviews)
    - State water park
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Water Parks
    Killens Pond Water Park image
For an inexpensive entry fee visitors can cool off in the pool and have some fun on the slides . For families there is a section that is shallow and has amusements for the small fry . It does get crowded so going before noon is a plus . So if you want a pool rather than the beach for the day it's a good alternative . See more..

  9. 3.5 Bowers Beach (35 reviews)
    - Alternative beach near Magnolia and S Dover
    Beaches
    Bowers Beach image
I layed on the beach at Bowers Beach several times this past summer. It is an alternative on the bay to going all the way to Lewes or Rehoboth. It is not the nice sandy beach and you have to share the beach with fishermen but it is an alternative I use because it is only 15 minutes from home. There are no toilet facilities. There is a restaurant open during the summer and there is a place to drop your boat. See more..
  10. 3.0 Ghost Hunts USA (33 reviews)
    - Missouri State Penitentiary
City Tours • Ghost & Vampire Tours • Night Tours • Private Tours
    Ghost Hunts USA image
This was my second tour of the Missouri State Penitentiary with Ghost Hunts USA. I was very let down. The group leaders provided very little energy, had little to NO info on the history of the institution and did not take us deep into the facility like they did the first time. Seemed a bit unorganized as well. I love this tour, and will give it another try, hopefully the leaders will get some experience under their belts as most were quiet, and had only been with Ghost Hunts USA for a year. Also I bought 4 tickets and due to a family emergency, could only use 3. They were absolutely non responsive to emails asking for a refund of that 1 ticket. See more..
  11. 3.0 Vince's Sports Center (26 reviews)
    - Miniature Golf
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Sports Complexes
    Vince's Sports Center image
We had a local flavor deal that got us 4 admissions to miniature golf and a pizza for one low price. We went over on a mild November day since our coupon was expiring soon. We got to play both courses for the one low price. We did notice that they had made MANY improvements to the miniature golf course within the past year. They added new greens, new statues and repaired several others. It really looked good. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Vince's. We were there probably around an hour for all 4 of us to play both courses and grab a pizza to go. Staff were friendly. Prices are fair. I would recommend and we will be back. Note: Vinces also offers an indoor play area for toddlers/small kids, an indoor arcade, indoor batting cages and a Par 3 golf in addition to having the two 17 hole miniature golf courses and snack bar. Snack bar offers more than just pizza too! See more..
  12. 3.5 Coleman's Christmas Tree Farm (25 reviews)
    - Ice cream
    Farms
    Coleman's Christmas Tree Farm image
Its too bad Coleman's is so far off the beaten path that we rarely see anyone here. The ice cream is very good and during the summer people should eat more ice cream. They should get a location closer into Middletown. See more..
  13. 3.5 Transpeninsular Marker (25 reviews)
    - A Bit of History on the MD/DE Line
Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Historic Sites
    Transpeninsular Marker image
The Transpeninsular Marker is located on the south side of the prominent Fenwick Island Lighthouse. The marker, itself, is the easternmost of a series of similar markers placed in the 1750s to mark the state boundary between Delaware and Maryland. There is a bit of history to be learned by a visit here. There is also opportunity to capture a few unique photographs. See more..
  14. 3.5 Rookery Golf Club (22 reviews)
    - Nice golf course, just give us some yardage markers
    Golf Courses
    Rookery Golf Club image
Had a chance to play this course twice last weekend. A good course is always better the second time when you know what is around the corner. Course is in good shape. Greens are fair, tee boxes are clean. A big however is-- give us more yardage markings. The tee boxes rarely gave us a marker that we could count on and there were no sprinkler head markings in the fairways. Minor point, but quite frustrating. Otherwise, nice staff, and good course on the way to Rehoboth. See more..

  16. 3.5 Christiana Skating Center (20 reviews)
    - Great Kids Skating Program!
    Sports Complexes
    Christiana Skating Center image
As a family we really enjoy taking our daughter to the Tuesday Kid Skate day. It is $5 and includes their skates, story time and a cookie for snack. They get basic instruction and can follow the teacher around and do fun things like the limbo, hokey pokey, etc. I believe the program only runs in the cooler months and takes the summer off. Looking forward to going again in the fall! As far as the rink itself, I feel it is dirty and very aged. They have a snack area, lockers and bleachers. Fun place for the family. See more..
  17. 3.0 Hullabaloo Amusement Center (19 reviews)
    - A clean and fun place for little children
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Amusement & Theme Parks
    Hullabaloo Amusement Center image
After reading negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean Hullabaloo is. I have been looking for a place to take my 2 1/2 year old niece to play this winter and I have found it. It is not a very big place which is perfect if you have younger children. We stayed for over 2 hours, so well worth the $8. My only complaint is that there was no supervision for the older children who were running over-top the little ones. We will be going back. 18. 3.0 Action Watercraft (19 reviews)
    - No problems here!

    - Please carry larger sizes or different fabric.
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Surfing & Windsurfing • Water Sports • Stand Up Paddleboarding
    Bethany Surf Shop image
I actually love the apparel designs they have and I always make a point to stop here when I visit Bethany or shop online. Most of their shirts are 100% cotton and run small so I need to size up. The highest size they usually carry is XXL. It be nice if they carried larger sizes or maybe polyester so they don’t shrink for us larger fellas. I usually find things I love there but they never fit. See more..

    Fort DuPont State Park image
Very cool place for what it is - not very big and an easy walk. Great location on the river. The batteries were pretty cool - but definitely lacking information. Signs about what happened there and what it looked like would have been nice. The buildings riding to it were pretty neat and again some more signs with history of them would have been great. The bugs were definitely annoying - but that’s nature. They could have kept the port a John a lot cleaner. See more..

  24. 3.0 Silver Lake Park (9 reviews)
    - Park?
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
    Silver Lake Park image
Saw the sign for the park and thought we would check out the park. Behind the sign is an elementary school and school parking lot. If you pull into the school parking lot, there is an athletic field beside the parking lot. I did NOT see an actual park with playgrounds for the kids or walking trails. Did not stay to explore any further since school is NOT out of session yet. Website says there is a public pool behind the school with daily rates $3 or you can buy a membership. See more..

  27. 3.5 Jonathans Landing Golf Club (6 reviews)
    - Very slow play
    Golf Courses
The staff were friendly but we did not like few of the things at the course. They had a ranger but we never saw him.The twosome in front of us had to be beginner golfers( the one took 3 shots off the first tee and i counted 14 strokes total. We finally got thru them to be held up again at the 4th hole. It took us 2 1/2 hours to play 9 holes and we quit. I did like the layout and it was in good shape but then again they had horrible markings to each tee and some were very confusing. I would also have likes to see some yardage markers in each fairway. The parking lot is huge compared to the beach, but the quiet waters offer a peaceful setting overlooking the river/Bay. While today was too cold for swimming, hiking, or picnics, those facilities await warmer weather. Enjoyed watching someone bring his dog for a little escape, and the dog had fun running up and down the sand. Today, seagulls and ducks provided the "wildlife" experience. We went to Trinity Community Church's Family Fest this past fall and had a great time! They had a trunk or treat for the kids plus inflatables, a corn maze, tractor pulled hayrides, LOTS of carnival style games with candy prizes, a bull ride and FREE food (hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn). They even has characters roaming around for the kids to interact with and take pictures. I saw Boss Baby, Minnie Mouse, Marshall from Paw Patrol, Mrs. Claus and Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. In addition to all of this they had a prize giveaway where you could win substantial prizes like bicycles IF you found a golden ticket in your registration/entry bag. The entire event was FREE ON Halloween day. I would definitely return for this event sponsored by TCC again in the future. It was a great community event for families with children. There were several cars offering treats for the kids in addition to inflatables, a small petting zoo and several kids characters on location too. No restrooms that I could find for the public. I thought it was just OK. I probably would not attend this particular event again in the future though as it was way too crowded for what was offered. See more..
  49. 3.5 Middletown Main Street Pocket Park (2 reviews)
    - Cute Little Nook

Middletown Main Street Pocket Park image
The Main Street Pocket Park is a cute little nook on Main Street. It is a cement slab/alleyway that has been turned into a little "park". There are a few seats and a patio set to sit at here. Maybe 9 seats in all. You can read a book or just relax. One of the walls of the park is a painted mural. It is painted to look like a hillside in the back portion and the front portion is painted to look like an antiques store front. The opposite wall was just plain grey paint. There are several potted flowers in the pocket park that really enhance the overall feeling of the nook. Overall, not a large "park" and not much to see, but it is a cute little nook where you can sit and relax for a moment if you are walking around downtown Main Street. See more..
  50. 3.0 Arden Shakeseare (1 review)
    - Good music but really bad seating and in-crowd atmosphere
    Theatre & Performances
We've gone to Arden Gild Hall a few times for music. They get a good line-up of diverse musicians, including some from across the globe whom you don't get to hear on big stages. Excellent sound system. Drafty, rustic barn-like building, reminiscent of summer camp. Small house, not a bad sight-line anywhere, BUT flimsy, cheap plastic chairs that will leave your back cramped and aching before the show even begins. "Bar" offers beer and wine, no coffee or tea even on a frigid winter night. The clanking sounds of bottles from bar clean-up during the concert can be a real distraction. And there's something a bit cloying and in-crowdy about the volunteer locals who run the place. They're dedicated and hard-working, to be sure, but you get the feeling that you somehow don't really belong if you're not one of them. See more..
