4.5Indian River Marina(61 reviews) - A great surprise stop. Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
This was one of those happy unplanned experiences. We decided at the last minute to turn off the road and we are glad we did. A lovely picturesque marina with a restaurant and shop. We sat and looked at the boats enjoying the beautiful October sun. Spotlessly clean and ample free parking, we spent an enjoyable hour here.See more..
4.5Smyrna Rest Area(39 reviews) - Highly Recommended to Stop Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Playgrounds We travel route 1 frequently when traveling to Ocean City, MD and this is typically our midway stop. The rest area is ALWAYS clean and people are friendly most times. The kids enjoy the playground in the Summer months and we like playing Pokemon Go because of the gyms lol. See more..

4.5Governor Ross Mansion(19 reviews) - Step Back in Time Saturday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Governor Ross Mansion is and Italian Ornate building originally built by the Ross family to be near the railroad (I believe I remember that correctly). The docents who guide the tours are very knowledgeable and friendly. Most of the antiques are original to the family and definitely to the period. Our docent was Margaret and she was the sweetest person you could have wanted to guide your tour. It was Christmas time and the mansion was decorated in original period decorations. The large tree was all decked out in ornaments that would would have been found during that time period. See more..
I love historical markers that can still be seen. Sadly, we have lost so many through the years by either natural weathering and crumbling or vandalism or other reasons. At least this one is covered and fenced, although parts have been vandalized in the past. Hopefully it will be there for many more years to come.See more..
3.5Huge Doctor's Bag With Stethescope(13 reviews) - A fun monument near Apex medical complex. Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Monuments & Statues
A physician myself I truly enjoyed this interesting fun monument with a self explanatory name. Nice landmark and tribute to centuries old concept of house calls. Best to get to it via GPS if -like myself - one has no idea where this location is. See more..
4.0Dover Green Historic District(13 reviews) - Tour of the Green started at John Bell's Points of Interest & Landmarks
Not sure where to write about the awesome tour of the Green. Our guide was one of best guides encountered on all of our travels. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and interesting story teller about Dover history/ American history. Her name was Theresa and wish we could have given her a big tip; instead we made a donation to the park. She spent over an hour with us because there was not a tour after ours.See more..
4.5Mason-Dixon Crownstone(4 reviews) - How could you call this average? Points of Interest & Landmarks
I don't know what the other reviews were talking about but I'm not sure how you could call a line marker average. I'm not sure that there really is a scale to measure it, but it delivers all that it promises. It marks the Mason Dixon line. I suppose that could be considered average, but I think that given that it is all that it is advertised to be, a sign and a crownstone in someones yard, that it deserves an excellent. I highly recommend that if you are doing this in tandem with a visit to the local vineyard/cidery that you find this first, then do the wine tasting. This is bound to be something you drive by once or twice trying to find it so the more sober you are the better chance you have of finding it quickly.See more..
Working blacksmith shop and museum. Blacksmith Kerry Rhoades uses Forged Creations as his means of expressing his designs. Through various blacksmithing techniques, Kerry designs various elements from gates, railings, sign brackets, hooks, furniture, sculpture, and more. Many forged creations are functional as well as being a piece of art.See more..
My family and I went to Georgetown Train and did the mine tour. It was amazing and so informative. My 10 year son got altitude sickness and they walked us out where we met a lovely lady named who truly went a above and beyond to make him feel better... she even gave him some special treats. The tour guide Nick was funny and the lady Tess was super helpful when we were panting for gold. I highly recommend this place! We will be back next time we travel through Colorado.See more..

The Main Street Pocket Park is a cute little nook on Main Street. It is a cement slab/alleyway that has been turned into a little "park". There are a few seats and a patio set to sit at here. Maybe 9 seats in all. You can read a book or just relax. One of the walls of the park is a painted mural. It is painted to look like a hillside in the back portion and the front portion is painted to look like an antiques store front. The opposite wall was just plain grey paint. There are several potted flowers in the pocket park that really enhance the overall feeling of the nook. Overall, not a large "park" and not much to see, but it is a cute little nook where you can sit and relax for a moment if you are walking around downtown Main Street.See more..
