- 5.0 Skargardens Kanotcenter Kayaks & Outdoor (158 reviews)
-A fantastic course and a wonderful kayak experience
Friday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Gear Rentals • Kayaking & Canoeing
We took a one-day course Level 1 Basic to learn the basics of kayaking and to be able to get up in the kayaks if we were to capsize m.m. It was a perfect course for us! We learned so much about paddling technique and got to practice getting in to the kayaks in all possible ways. Milena is a fantastic instructor knowledgeable, experienced with wonderful happy energy that inspires to paddle more. A very nice dag with wonderful scener, she also knows a lot about the archipelago and its history which she happily shared. We have already booked the next paddling trip with Skärgårdens Kanotcenter! - 4.5 Östermalm Saluhall (1.613 reviews)
-Beautiful market hall…
Friday: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM Flea & Street Markets
Granted this is perhaps a better place to go to buy food than it is to go for a meal as there are only a few options for dining and they are pricey and more like restaurants than the cafe style or street food operation you might normally expect in a market. But then this is Stockholm, and this is a very upmarket and smart market hall. A lot of the produce, fresh fish, fresh meat looked incredible and wouldn’t be out of place in somewhere like Harrods or Selfridges. If nothing else, as it was only a short stroll from our hotel, this was a lovely place to walk around to look at the amazing food & savour the smells. Impressive. See more..

- 4.5 Stortorget (1.462 reviews)
-Beautiful
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Points of Interest & Landmarks
Stortorget was the absolute centre in the Old Stockholm, what is now known as Gamla Stan. The brick buildings that one can see today are from late Medieval time. I think it is marvelous, but I am biased since many of my ancestors were tradesmen, mayors and city court jurors in Stockholm and many lived around Stortorget. I have never tried a city tour though. - 4.5 Monteliusvagen (1.065 reviews)
-Panoramic Viewpoint of Stockholm
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Historic Walking Areas
I would say this is a must visit in Stockholm since it’s not as touristy and it’s free! The walk to the viewpoint provided some good exercise. It’s within walking distance from Gamla Stan. Since we started from somewhere near Stockholm City Hall, we disembarked from a nearby metro station and walked from there. We struggled a bit with the Google Maps as it kept us looping around the perimeter, so it’s better to have an idea of its location, use your instinct, follow the sign, and you’ll definitely be there. Once you're up there, you’ll be rewarded with the panoramic view of Lake Malaren and the iconic architectures and sites of Stockholm although it was marred by some construction sites. Although it’s recommended to go for the sunset, the colour was not that spectacular but the charming view compensated for its shortfall. Do not forget Skinnarviksberget, another viewpoint which is only a few hundred meter away. See more..

- 4.5 Swedish Museum of Natural History (623 reviews)
-One of the best natural history museums
Friday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Natural History Museums
Excellent museum, it was really interesting and great fun. The exhibits are like no other natural history museum I've been to before, instead of animals shown individually here you have animals placed together like they would have been in real life - the leopard posed with one paw clawing a bird, penguins and sea gulls placed with elephant seals on a beach. The wolf display showed how they interacted with others in the pack, with playing wolves, fighting wolves and those caring for their cubs. You get to touch and feel bones, antlers, fur and even the baleen from a whale. Amazing displays and really interesting. See more..
- 4.5 Skeppsholmen (616 reviews)
-Spent much time there!
Islands
Skeppsholmen is a tiny islet perfect for walking. The Modern art museum was wonderful as was the Asian museum and the kids' toy museum. We stayed at the Hotel Skeppsholmen on the island for great views in an urban oasis surrounded by city. The nightly walks home over the lamplit-bridge afforded panoramic views and set a very romantic stage for lovers. See more..

The Unesco World Heritage Skogskyrkogården is beautiful all year round, much due to the unique way it is woven into the landscape. We also have audio and visitor's guides, which you can download prior to your visit. Please visit our website for more information. See more..
- 4.5 The Royal Swedish Opera (459 reviews)
-The Marriage of Figaro
Spent 2-3 hours Operas • Theaters
It was enjoyable to visit this stunning opera house after a long break because of the pandemic. Our first tickets were canceled and refunded. The second ones were changed to this date. The current opera house was inaugurated in 1899 by King Oscar II. It is a majestic neo-classical building with an impressive gold foyer and a grand marble staircase leading to a three-tiered auditorium. During the intermission, there were long queues at the various serving points. Luckily, we found the opera restaurant di Sotto from downstairs. There were no queues at this bar. We had seats in a side box on the first circle. The view would have been good if there wouldn't have been a teenager next to us leaning on the railing for half of the performance. Otherwise, the performance was superb. See more..

- 4.5 Artipelag (370 reviews)
-A unique international meeting place for usually exciting art exhibitions
Friday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Coffeehouses • Art Museums • Scenic Walking Areas
Artipelag is an international venue for art, good food, events and activities – beautifully set on Varmdo in the Stockholm Archipelago, just 20 minutes from the city centre. The name Artipelag is a combination of Art, Activities, and Archipelago. It says a lot about what we can offer, but it does not tell it all. Our intention has been to create a destination of high international quality – with boundary-crossing art exhibits, inspiring activities, and good food. Getting here is easy; whether by bus, car or boat. There are 350 parking spaces, a pier for passenger boats from Stockholm City, a long guest marina for visiting private boats and public bus service daily. See more..
- 4.5 Lake Malaren (361 reviews)
-Birka
Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water
Birka was one of the few known towns or cities of the Vikings and is on a beautiful island in Lake Malaren. The Vikings traded with much of Eurasia. Recreated Viking vessels and a town built according to experimental archaeologists, in the traditional forms, and with traditional tools is splendid -- as is the museum The boat trip from Stockholm and return takes most of a summer day. One of the best, among the many wonderful things, I experienced in Sweden. See more..
