Thank you Jasper (Jesper? Idk whether the spelling is different in Swedish!) for an amazing and super informative trip around Göteborg! You were so captivating, I wish I knew Swedish so I could get all the hidden jokes in there! I would recommend this for anyone English-speaking as an alternative way of learning about the city. A big thank you to our driver/pilot and all those we met, you truly made the experience wonderful. Break a leg Jasper, I hope to see you in a show soon! See more..

    Stångehuvud Naturreservat image
This beautiful place was destined to disappear due to stone quarrying until Mrs Calla Curman had the foresight to buy the land in the early 20th Century and establish it as a nature reserve. I never tire of enjoying the walks. The scenery always changes with the weather, but beware of slippery rocks after rain or snow! A complete walk around the coastal path takes about 1.5 hours (add time to stop, picnic, and enjoy the view) and the whole area is close to the town of Lysekil. See more..

    Southern Gothenburg Archipelago image
Tram 11 from city centre to Salthomen, then the 281 ferry to Vrango. Boat trip itself stunning 30mins. We had snack at Popsicle cafe when we got off the boat, then walked round the southern part of the island. Quiet, unspoilt and simply beautiful. Arrived at the picture postcard village on the west side of the island and wandered about taking lots of pictures. Ferry over to Donso for another picturesque walk through pretty houses and coastal views. Walked over the bridge to Styrso and up to the viewpoint called Stora Ros before catching ferry back to mainland. Highly recommend this for a memorable day trip. See more..

    Slottsskogen image
Huge park on the outskirts of the city center. Parking (meter) available. Did not know what to expect. Absolutely huge, with large flat grass areas to relax, picnic or unwind, and forest areas. A free zoo in the middle allows you to see Gotland ponies, pingouins, sea lions, the famous moose and other Nordic animals. Very well done. There’s even a little petting zoo for children (closed at the moment due to corona). You can stop for an ice cream or waffle at a little cafe in the middle, or when you get to the end of the zoo there’s a much bigger restaurant that offers a lot more choices including savoury dishes. There’s also a great kids playground. Near the natural history museum. See more..

Fun and interesting way to spend time and learn more about the city. The tour guide peppers the historic facts with jokes to keep you interested. Aeroseum image
This is a must visit if you're interested in military aviation. The exhibition is inside a mountain that once was considered safe for nuclear weapons, It's about 20-25 min outside city center so you do need a car or take a taxi/uber/bolt. If you don't have your own car, do consider to prearrange pickup back to town as there are not many taxis in the area. The exhibition is smartly arranged to please both adults and kids, many interactive experiences. A kids area and also a café with food, We booked and paid €120 for a private guide and it was worth the money. The guide had so much information about the cold war and the items in the exhibition. Plan for at least 2 hour visit See more..

As usual, new stages of the Opera's dignity offer good acoustics, good seating comfort, which is not common with more pompous stages.Plenty of staff available. If you come in good time, there are several small cafes with OK selection, Restaurant that is full of ambitions. however, the environment is a bit dreary except for the view of the harbor entrance.Menu prices are expensive and would need to be a little lower to match the experience.Saw an opera performance, Hoffmann's Adventure, which was magnificent in both singing and scenography. But here a wide range is offered in terms of dance, musicals and opera See more..

The main paths are well marked and even surfaced. There are countless places to sit and ejoy the review around the lake, or to take swim and cool off. There is even a beach area and a wonderful place to fika (Kaffestugan Lyckan). In this same area you will also find bathrooms, fresh water and places to rent a canoe, or go fishing. There are several rest areas around the lake where you can have a picnic. This area is great for anyone who wants to be out for just a short walk, or spend the day. See more..
