Picture postcard scenery .. superb day trip from Goteburg
Tram 11 from city centre to Salthomen, then the 281 ferry to Vrango. Boat trip itself stunning 30mins. We had snack at Popsicle cafe when we got off the boat, then walked round the southern part of the island. Quiet, unspoilt and simply beautiful. Arrived at the picture postcard village on the west side of the island and wandered about taking lots of pictures. Ferry over to Donso for another picturesque walk through pretty houses and coastal views. Walked over the bridge to Styrso and up to the viewpoint called Stora Ros before catching ferry back to mainland. Highly recommend this for a memorable day trip.

A great day out from the city
This was a great day out. We bought a 4 day inclusive ticket for our time in the city and this covered the tram out to the port and the ferry to the islands. There is a warm waiting room just at the port entrance. The ferry was on time , clean and efficient. The islands were quiet in March and well worth a walk despite the cold. On the way back we caught a ferry with a cafe upstairs. This gave us a late and decent lunch and made it efficient to jump off at the port and go to see other things. A must take for a camera.

Natural beauty on a great day trip from Gothenburg
Water, waves, quaint villages, hiking, and local restaurants provide a great day out in the islands. We took the tram to the ferry dock and walked on the boat and enjoyed our ride out to the islands. On Styrso we enjoyed walking the paths in the village and finding lunch at a small cafe by the marina. We followed a trail along the wild coastline and enjoyed the rocks, trees, and views of the water. We stopped at the grocery store to get snacks before wandering the trails to the highest point on the island to enjoy the views of the islands and water. This a great place to enjoy a day out in nature.
