If you are interested in military aviation, this is a must

This is a must visit if you're interested in military aviation. The exhibition is inside a mountain that once was considered safe for nuclear weapons, It's about 20-25 min outside city center so you do need a car or take a taxi/uber/bolt. If you don't have your own car, do consider to prearrange pickup back to town as there are not many taxis in the area. The exhibition is smartly arranged to please both adults and kids, many interactive experiences. A kids area and also a café with food, We booked and paid €120 for a private guide and it was worth the money. The guide had so much information about the cold war and the items in the exhibition. Plan for at least 2 hour visit

    Great Aviation Museum to Visit
This place is fantastic for several reasons. The first being the fact that it's pretty much identical to how it was originally built by the Swedish Air Force, as a base to house 20 fighter. The second reason is that the museum has an extensive assortment of military and civilian aircraft, as well as military helicopters. The price of admission is right, there's plenty to look at (even during winter!), and unlike other aviation museums, they allow you to hop in the cockpit of a Draken and Viggen fighter. There is also plenty of child oriented activities that will keep them busy. The downsides to the museum is that like other reviewers have mentioned, it is off the beaten path from the nearest bus stop, and is treacherous in the winter with icy roads. Someone fell on the ice as I was walking in. Other than that, the gift shop's selection is quite limited in what they have to offer. Really wish there were some books in English on the history of the Swedish Air Force and Saab Aircraft.

Definitely a worthy stop when visiting Gothenburg
Hidden historical gem. Learn local history and impact of global events in this hidden gem. Learn about Swedish air defence history, WWII and espionage. A must visit place with children. One can even climb into a jet fighter! How’s that for your bucket list! Venue is hard to access using public transportation and a fair bit to walk with small children from bus stop. It’s about a 7-10 min walk. Museum has very much tactile areas for children of all ages and adults. One can easily spend 2-4 hours here. There is a cafeteria/gift shop and washrooms. A must visit for history/military affacinados. Big thumbs up. It would be great if they offered a van/shuttle service every 30 min from bus stop. More people would visit I reckon. I bought some very beautiful cuff links.
