- 5.0 Hällingsåfallet (30 reviews)
-A most along the wilderness road
Waterfalls
The waterfall is rather unique in Sweden. There are higher falls but with less water so this one is very impressive with water exploding out of an opening among the rocks and falling down into a canyon which runs at a 90 degree angle to the fall. We walked along the river to the fall from the first parking lot which takes a while but is quite ok. The road leading to this area was extremely bad with lots of blown tires due to preparatory road works leaving the road very bumpy with lots of small rocks. Probably ok for next season. There is no service at the falls. See more..

-Need to be Back Again
National Parks
Actually we were already in this national park as our cabin was in Dalsvallen. The day we arrived in the cabin the weather was good. The next morning we went to find bever family first in the creek near our cabin and also near one of the start of the trail. But soon it was raining very hard. So we stopped our walk and back to our cabin hoping that the rain would stop. Unfortunattely we stayed in the cabin the rest of the day. See more..

Bra topptur för en kortare tur vi gick den branta vägen vilket var ett trevligt vägval, brant och lite luftigt och utsatt på ett ställe men kul att utmana sin höjdrädsla. See more..

-Underbsrt
Waterfalls
- 4.5 Jamtli (277 reviews)
-A must do in Östersund
Friday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Art Museums • History Museums
Jamtli offers an exciting journey through the history of Jamtland and Harjedalen. Here you will discover stimulating milieux and enjoy being part of history. The museum has permanent exhibitions about the region's past alongside temporary exhibitions of arts and handicrafts. Some exhibitions take up current matters of public interest and explore them from an historical perspective. Every summer, the open air museum turns into Jamtli Historieland (living history theme park). The historical buildings come alive with history and role plays, where visitors are drawn into eventful and playful stories from 1785 until 1975. Jamtli Historieland enables you, as a visitor, to associate with the actors who bring to life and portray people from the past. Jamtli gives access to our regional heritage and provides a place where we can discuss our values and life-styles, then and now. Jamtli gives you the opportunity to make the most of your visit. Perhaps you would like to bring your own picnic basket and spend your time relaxing in the stunning parks. Or you might want to meet the actors, such as Astrid and Sture who farm the Per Albin-torpet (The Smallholding) from 1942? Or you may be fascinated by the 1,000-year-old tapestries, "The Overhogdal Tapestries". You choose, so bring your whole family, your friends, your company employees or just come on your own to an enjoyable, entertaining and magical museum where you can see, touch and act! See more..

-A great 3 day trip for for light backpack and good service.
Hiking Trails
As mentioned in the other reports its best to start from Storulvån where you park your car. (Possible to take the train and go up by bus but check with hotell.) Triangle consists of Three manned lodges: Stoulvån, Sylarna (14km. 2 'Safecabins' on the way). Sylarna to Blåhammaren 19 km (One 'Safecabin). Back to Storulvån (12 km starts with a long downhill). This is a good start for your first mountain skiing trip but beware of bad weather. Route is well marked and the safetycabins is there for a reason. You can get food at the lodges so you can have a light backpack. Call ahead and preorder. Blåhammaren have a very good restaurant while Sylarna Station let you be your own chef. See more..

- 4.5 Doda Fallet (59 reviews)
-Beautiful Nature
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
The Nature Reserve is a “living” dead waterfall and Sweden’s largest natural disaster of all time. It is located in, Jamtland, Ragunda. Today the Doda fallet canyon is a unique geological formation where you can see and study land uplift, learn how waterfalls were created as the ice receded at the end of the last ice age, and see how the power of water can erode bedrock to create a deep canyon. See more..
- 4.5 Moose Garden (57 reviews)
-A unique experience
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Moose Garden is definately worth a visit. This place offers you a unique experience where you can meet a moose up close, including petting it, taking selfies with it (yes I did use that word) and kissing it if you feel romantic - things you aren't able to do in the wild. Also you'll get to know anything there is to know about this magnificent creature. Very nice views over the beautiful landscape with mountains, forest and the lake Storsjön - unforgetable. Cool souveniers, such as paper made out of the mooses poop, soap made with the fat in the mooses fur and much more stuff based around the moose theme. They also offer some activities besides a guided moose tour. The location is perfect with the above mentioned views and nearby attractions; also very close to Östersund, only a 20 minute drive from the city centre and 20-30 minutes to the airport. See more..
- 4.5 Härjedalens Fjällmuseum (38 reviews)
-Very interesting...
Speciality Museums
... if you are in Funäsdalen you will be interested in the Fjäll I guess, so it is nice. It is more about how people have been living in the Fjäll than abut the nature, and also more about the farmers and not too much the sami people (most loive more up north), but still very interesting. If you spend your day here, you should see it! Also good for children. See more..
- 4.5 Fattjeafallet (33 reviews)
-Frozen Waterfall.
Waterfalls
Whilst we were on Skiing holiday in Vemdalen Sweden, we drove to Klovsjo to take a walk to the waterfall. There is enough room to park your car and then you have to follow the track for 2 kilometres. Because we visited in winter the trackway was very faint due to snow and ice. Follow along the side of the river until you cross a small footbridge then you start walking uphill a bit until the next footbridge to take you back across the river. The Waterfall is at the end of the Valley, this year due to the slightly warmer weather it was still running in places. The colours and the different shapes of the ice was stunning. Well worth a trip but be careful as it is icy. See more..

- 4.5 Fettjeåfallet (16 reviews)
-Magic in the Wilderness
Bodies of Water • Waterfalls
We visited late May under a grey and dark sky. There was nobody. Nobody at all, just moose. The hike to the waterfall is magic indeed, as you see everywhere stones piled on top of each other and on treetrunks. This must have been the work of trolls at night, as one cannot imagine humans doing such silly things :) The falls itself are beautiful and have a high wow factor tor. Certainly worth the hike See more..

-Roligt avbrott från skidbacken!
4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Ski & Snow Tours • Gear Rentals
See more..
