  1. 5.0 Lights Over Lapland (1.079 reviews)
    - 10/10 HIGHLY Recommend Lights Over Lapland
    Photography Tours
    Lights Over Lapland image
I booked a 3 day/night tour with Lights Over Lapland that included the Aurora Chase, 2 Aurora photo tours, snow shoe hikes, dog sledding, and snow mobileing. Everything was perfectly coordinated, seamless, and easy with Lights Over Lapland - the guides are professional and also engaging and fun to be around for hours at a time. Abisko is a beautiful place and if you're heading there to experience the landscape and see the lights, booking with Lights Over Lapland is a must! A special thank you to Sofia for the best snow shoe hikes - they were my favorite! See more..
  2. 5.0 Lights of Vikings (944 reviews)
    - Amazing tours that showed us a magic corner of the world!

    Lights of Vikings image
The chase of the Northern Lights started with a first rainy night, but even so with the best team, Lights of Vikings, who is very commited and persistent we could still see some small traces of Aurora. On the 2nd night even if it started really weird, with a snow storm :) this time, after a while, as the best things come after some small “sufferings” , we’ve been rewarded with an amazing Aurora, strong and very extensive. Going on a Northern Lights chase, with the right team ( it has to be Lights of Vikings ) is more like a beautiful adventure, from the pick-up moment, then the included dinner time at Abisko mountain lodge, and followed by the actual chase with jokes, smiles, emotions, music, and good vibes. I've been also very impressed on how fast and how easy they could predict the spots where the Aurora will make the appearance, and how the team communicated all the time. I couldn’t miss the “Here comes the sun” hiking tour either, which was a challenging and amazing experience, from going down to a frozen lake where we’ve been impressed by the shapes of the huge frozen waves to the climbing to a mountain. But to not forget about the delicious cookies and the hot chocolate that we’ve had, should not be missed for anything in the world!! So thank you for this unforgettable experience, Cristina, Onur, Bernat, Felipe and Dimitri!! I will always recommend Lights of Vikings! See more..

    - Phenomenal unforgettable adventure

The dogs howl together. The volume raises and falls away. And as the dogs prepare to set out on their run, they’re excited calls whip up the other dogs that are to be left behind and does not fall away until the anchor brake comes off and todays adventure begins. The dogs set off as if released from the racing traps and soon we escape the lights of the lodge and we’re into the forest. The snow has fallen afresh and the track is more camouflaged than most days but the dogs know their way and they charge into the night. As we leave the forest into the open land, such beauty - picture perfect. The air is crisp and it’s so quiet. Only the pants of the dogs, the patter of their paws on the snow and the sliding of the cart with the occasional break to keep the gap between the rider ahead. It’s so peaceful. I’m so lucky. I reflect in the moment that as dreams go, it was worth the wait. Back at base, the dogs are fed, unharnessed and returned back to their homes. One by one, they’re all checked back in and then it’s time to meet the youngsters. We meet the 6 month olds first, two young dogs that like affection. One climbs my knees to get the most attention. Afterwards, it’s on to the pups. They’re one month old. They’re tiny - impossibly small. They shiver as their minute paws with spread legs touch the snow. I grab armfuls of them and tuck them all together. Their fur is soft. Their tiny ears. The snow is falling on their little black furred bodies. I put them down and grab another two and watch the ones I let go stumble over to their mum to see if she’ll let them fed. She won’t, it’s not time. And more of these little black puppies flood from their nest. Nine in all. Becoming more confident in their paws as we’re there with them and tussling with one another. And too soon, it’s time to leave. Time to leave this wonderful place and go back to our realities. A priceless experience and one I’ll remember forever. See more..

Beautiful must-do experience while in Kiruna area. The environment is stunning and you get to ride your own sled which I defintely recommend, as you feel a connection with the dogs. The owner and team where all wonderful and really care about the dogs. I really appreciate that the owner arranged for us to join last-minute and came pick us up at Ice Hotel without extra costs. This is not the case with many other tours here. Overall it was a magical experience. They have their own trails, through forests and a beautiful frozen lake, so we were not bothered by any other tours. We forgot some of our gear, which we realized after we were dropped-off in Kiruna. They arranged to drop it off for us in Kiruna later that night, I really appreciate it! Helpful, kind and a real love for what they are doing. Look no further, this is the one to book with! Lapland Sleddog Adventures image
Passion for what they do, dedication to their guests and genuine approach, is truly what these people are about. The 3 of us had a week’s holiday we will never forget with Milos & Gaynor! They’re super experienced, well organised with brilliant and well looked after dogs and provide top notch equipment. Their lodge is of a very high standard, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. A special thanks to Milos who guided us into the wilderness for several days: He was unassumingly mega efficient to ensure everything worked as planned with a smile on his face. He was a fabulous coach to the 3 Artic rookies we were and, to top it all cooked us great food. What a guy! And of course, we were hugely grateful and felt privileged to be pulled by these incredibly powerful dogs across huge distances in stunning scenery. A connection with nature and the elements that none of us experienced before with such intensity - Priceless A Major Thank You See more..

    - Winter Experience Like no Other.

    LapplandMedia & PhotoAdventures image
My wife, Sue and I just finished a wonderful winter photography tour of Lapland led by Peter Rosen and David Evans. Both Peter and David were generous in sharing their extensive knowledge, helping us improve our photgraphy and get better shots. While there is a focus on the aurara (which did not dissapoint), the winter landscapes and soft skies are simply stunning. They also provided some extra lenses (high quality) to help better capture photos in lower light and tripods, so no need to drag one with you from home. Being a local meant that Peter knew the area extremely well and where go to see stunning views. Experiencing reindeer and dog sledding was a little different but moving through the trees and snow with either the dogs or the reideer was very enjoyable and also provided the opportunity to learn a little of the local Sami culture. The outer clothes provided to us did the job extremely well and given that temps dropped to -30 C good clothes are a must. Great location, great teachers, good food and accommodation and great fellow travellers. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for a photographic tour experience that can and does provide that WOW factor. It certainly did not disappoint and we loved the experience. Our experience was fantastic! First of all, Stephanie is such a sweet person, she immediately makes you feel welcome and taken care of. She is also really keen to adjust the experience to your specific needs (should you be scared of the dogs or completely madly in love with them!). The dogs are adorable and they enjoy being cuddled, and there is plenty of time to do so! To conclude, the view during the tour is simply outstanding and breathtaking! We also really appreciated living that experience with a small company such as Husky voice instead of a big one. There is a lovely family atmosphere. Stephanie is really passionate about her job and very knowledgeable. She answered all our questions with a lot of patience and kindness! Thank you again, I hope to come back again :) See more..

What a nice discovery! Great advices and encouragement by Aril, our very nice professional life-keeper for the session. Good sensations when climbing ; being pushed to the end of your physical limits is so cool. Requires some strength in legs and arms, but one can definitely enjoy without necessarily going to the top of the ice wall. Thanks again Aril See more..

It was an amazing experience not only with the dogsledding but also because of the kindness an well organisated tourguide. Sanne is so attentfully to her huskies and they are so disciplined it is pure love between her and the dogs and you can feel the respect each from another.... I made a 2 day tour and we slept in a cabin out in the forest, we had a lot of snow but thankfully for the good overall, gloves, had an shoes included in the price of the tour - i was not a minute feeling cold. If you ever think to do a tour on a dogsledding than book it with the yellow snow husky tours - you won't regret it - they love their job and you will love the experience with them See more..
  11. 5.0 Taube Activity (144 reviews)
    - The best decision we made for our Kiruna trip
Ski & Snow Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Taube Activity image
A 100% worth-it experience! It is a majestic place with kind people that are ready to help you with anything you may need! I definitely recommend you to give it a try if you are in the region and participate in as many of the offered activities as possible!! The good thing is that there is flexibility so you can spend more time doing the things that you like most. Don't worry if you are not a big group of people, there are always other fun people around to hung out with! The only thing I want to point out is to bring snacks with you, because even though they provide you with great food you might still get hungry, especially with all this cold around. So better be safe than hungry:) See more..

We stayed at Abisko Guesthouse in December 2019 up to January 2020. It was really wonderful. First of all: the staff. They are so helpful and kind. As it was the third time we visit Abisko it is obvious that we were very pleased with our stays. And this included our cosy flat, the possibility to buy all we needed in the nearby shop and of course the phantastic nature in winteR: We recommend Abisko Guesthouse as it is our favourite destination in this area of Sweden. Arctic Dogsled Adventure AB image
What a fantastic three day trip! Guide Hanna took us out into the Swedish winter, everyone of the guest steering their own dog team - well to be honest: the dogs know the trail anyway! :-) Accomodation in the ”wilderness” cabin close to the Torne river exceeded our expectations and on top of that Hanna is a great cook! For the long trip (32km) on day two the weather was just perfect and on monday we got a bonus lightshow in the sky! See more..
  15. 5.0 Luleå Travel (78 reviews)
    - Great Travel Agent Service For Our Trip
Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Ski & Snow Tours • Bike Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
    Luleå Travel image
Big thanks to Ruby and the Lulea Travel team for their help, advice and ease of communication to help me plan our family adventure to Swedish Lapland. I'm a firm believer in using a local agent when travelling to a totally unknown area for the first time and recommend their services to fellow travellers. I didn't get the name of the French/Swedish lady who met us at Lulea Airport from Lulea Travel and gave us a drive-through with commentary through the city itself to our destination (a slightly longer way to the Lodge than the direct route, but she did ask us if we wanted to do it first!!), so please pass on our thanks to her. 16. 5.0 Husky Home (65 reviews)
    - The ONLY husky ride - A must activity - so exciting
Spent More than 3 hours Ski & Snow Tours
    Husky Home image
An amazing experience all around. Over 50 dogs and not a sound! The kennels practice a stress free atmosphere and nothing happens until they are all quiet. Quite amazing Linda and her team looked after us so well. We had good instructions and were just 2 on a sled with 5 dogs pulling. Driving the sled was magical over the frozen lake and trails. We soon learnt how to handle it and the dogs knew exactly where to go & followed the lead sled faultlessly. The scenery was magical. So quiet & white!! After a few hours we returned to "base" and spent a lovely half hour giving the dogs their after run massage. We & the dogs loved that. Then into Linda's House for a warm and some fabulous home made soup & pastries before being picked up to go back to our hotel. A husky ride is must do activity Look at the rest - BUT BOOK THIS AS THE BEST See more..

If you’re in the Arvidsjaur area and want to have a crack at learning some ice driving skills, get in touch with the guys at 4Move. We spent the day tearing around various circuits on a frozen lake in a Toyota GT86 (other cars are available), learning the ropes and had an absolute blast! Great instructors and support team, superb location, and and a really cabin to get warm in during (a delicious) lunch, breaks, and de-briefs. All round, a most excellent experience! We will be back! It was a lovely experience. We booked the morning tour starting at 9.30 o´clock and we had a wonderful view. Our guide Jo(h)anna was very lovely and supportive. As a family with teenagers, we recommend booking them for an exceptional experience for everyone who loves the nature. Due to a needed distance to the Skooter in front of you, we wouldn´t recommend doing this activity in a big group and rather enjoy it as a smaller group. See more..

    - This is a true wilderness lodge

    Wildnisdorf Solberget image
I visited Solberget with my family and we really loved it! We ate a dinner together with the others in the evening, cooked on a fire stove, had a warming sauna, slept well in our own cabin to the sound of a crackling fire. The next morning I went for a ski hike in the deep snow in the forest where I saw some reindeer, before a healthy breakfast. I can highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a real wilderness lodge. You will be taken well care of by Dirk and his colleagues. See more..

We did the Day snowmobile tour (check their website for informations) and it was astonishing. Probably one of the best quality/price in the region. - Snow wilderness heaven

Across Padjelanta National Park: I absolutely loved this immersive nature and cultural experience. It's one of the biggest physical challenges I have ever faced and with no network connection you completely disconnect and live in the moment. Christian, our guide, has lived locally for over 20 years and is deeply connected in the Sami community. He shared with us his knowledge about local customs, ecology, nature habitats and anecdotes. We were faced with some weather challenges (in this area you are bound to) but I always felt completely safe and in good hands. If you are considering this holiday keep in mind that the huts have no running water, no showers and the toilets are external non water closets. You will have to carry your own equipment and part of the food for the trip either in a backpack or sled amounting up to 20-30kg. Thank you again Christian and Mirja - I’ll be back for more :-) See more..
  23. 4.5 Kiruna Kyrka (551 reviews)

    Churches & Cathedrals
    Kiruna Kyrka image
If you loved the wooden structure of the Rohan buildings in the Lord of the Rings, you'll love the way this church has been build. It's heated in winter, so it's a nice place to warm up. Additional lighting makes a beautiful scenery from the outside. The belltower is separated from the main building and is beautiful in its own right. See more..
  24. 4.5 Kiruna Guidetur - Day Trips (448 reviews)
    - Dog sled and igloo sleepover experience

Kiruna Guidetur - Day Trips image
We booked an overnight dog sled tour and colloseum dinner and sleeping in an igloo. It was really well organised and we enjoyed every minute. The igloo was very exciting and the dog sled was probably one of our favourite activities during our 2 week's stay. The only negative was the toilet facilities in the camps. I would highly recommend this company as a booking agent in Kiruna for these activities. See more..
  25. 4.5 Gammelstad Church Town (433 reviews)
    - excellent historical site, do not miss it
    Historic Sites
    Gammelstad Church Town image
Of Sweden's 71 original church towns, only 16 are left today. The majority of these have been reduced to a remnant. Gammelstad has the country's largest and best preserved church town with 408 cottages comprising 553 rooms. The church town presumably arose from a combination of several factors: the long distances, merchants' needs for storage and accommodation at the marketplace, the church stables and last but not least the population's duty to attend church regularly. Gammelstad Church Town was put on the UNESCO World Heritage List on 7 December, 1996. Visit Gammelstad Visitor Center for more information. Visitor Center offers information, exhibition, slideshow room, souvenirshop, audioguides and guided tours of Gammelstad Church Town. See more..

    National Parks
    Abisko National Park image
We only did a short trail (~ 2,5 km) in the lower part of the nationalpark where the Torneträsk lake is. Nevertheless, what we saw was stunning even on a clowdy, windy and cold day. There's this forest of small birches which is typical for the area and the trail alongside the lakeshore is beautiful. See more..

    Visit Abisko image
We had a bustransfer from Abisko, to Kiruna. The bus driver was well on time, and an extremely experienced driver who made us feel very comfortable even when driving on an icy road. We were the only passangers. He also told us a lot of things about life in Abisko, the Sami and their habbits, and his own adventures as a bus driver. Instead of lost time, this transfer turned out to be an event on its own thanks to the beautiful landscapes as well as the amazing bus driver! See more..
  28. 4.5 Icebar (191 reviews)
    - Cocktails in Ice Glasses Sculpted from the Torne River
    Bars & Clubs
    Icebar image
This is the original Ice Bar and a must-see if you are anywhere near the Ice Hotel. There are ice chandeliers, ice booths with reindeer pelts, and various sculptures to add to the overall theme. The drinks are served in ice glasses all sculpted from the Torne River, which we were told is so clean that you can drink directly from it so no worries there. It is a bit pricey, as is all of Sweden, but it’s worth the cost because of the experience. This is one of the most unique bars in the world with great service, a fun ambiance, and good cocktails. 30. 4.5 Ajtte Museum (170 reviews)
    - Our Lapland camper holiday tour.
    Speciality Museums
    Ajtte Museum image
We visited museum and from the beginning it was a very intresting museum. The story of the Sami is excellent to see from about 10.000 years ago uptill now. Photographs, movies, clothing, fishing, hunting, the reindeerlife and the winter and summer trail with them. What a very hard life in the past, extreme weather circumstances, struggling people with the rivers and the low temperatures. I have a lot of respect for their way of life. Deep impressed we left the museum. When being in the neighbourhood of Jokkmokk, you have to visit this museum. See more..
