-Fantastic stay at Flotellet
Kayaking & Canoeing
We stayed 3 nights at Flotellet and had a wonderful time. The location is perfect and Flotellet is isolated so you feel you have the whole lake to your self. It has all the necessary utensils for the kitchen and you can easily cook and enjoy just staying on the lake. We also went out for a walk around the lake which is also recommended. Finally the owner is absolutely fantastic and so helpful and he made the stay even better. I cannot recommend this place and Flotellet enough for anyone who want so a great experience in nature See more..

-Fantastic woodwork and art preserved through the ages
Churches & Cathedrals
I diverted from my original planned route to visit this place, and it was well well worth it. Built entirely from locally sourced pinewood, after many centuries the building and its elaborate interior artwork still look magnificent. I couldn't stay for the tour, but the guide was gracious enough to tell a bit about some stories behind the various artworks, including some flaws that were preserved as part of the design. The artwork tells timeless stories, as does the building itself. See more..

- 4.5 Grenna Museum (106 reviews)
-Seriously good
Friday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Speciality Museums
This small museum looks humble from the outside but once you’re inside, be prepared for loads of information! You WILL learn a lot. There are two floors of exhibition. The ground floor is an introduction to Andrée and his companions. There’s also a contextualisation of his ill-fated expedition. There are also many other infos about other North Pole expeditions, to this day, with modern challenges. The basement level has many many of the items that belonged to the three adventurers that have perished and they also chronicle their trip until the end. The items are well preserved which makes this museum unique since most expeditions are either entirely lost or have some items partially recovered. Also do watch the introductory movie! It has high production values and it’s very well made. The whole museum - I have read absolutely everything - took me about 2 hours, including the movie. See more..
- 4.5 Kleva Gruva (103 reviews)
-Absolutely amazing
Temporarily closed - Closed until May 19, 2023 Spent 1-2 hours Mines
An amazing gem in the middle of the Swedish forest. Been visiting several times with my friends and family. Highly appreciated by everyone. The staff is so friendly and service minded. They really want you to get the best experience possible. There are more things to do than just entering the amazing mine. You can pan for gold, make your own food over an open fire, climb a wall and much more. Other than that you feel at peace when you are there. The nature is amazing and be on top of the mine and just watch the view is mind blowing. Pack your bag and prepare for a true adventure. Highly recommend not one but many visits. See more..
- 4.5 Naturreservatet Skurugata & Skuruhatt (93 reviews)
-Impressive walk crossing a steep gap in the rocks.
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nice walk through an impressive gap. Good hiking shoes (no sneakers) highly recommended if you want to take the lower route through the gap. Don’t do this when the rocks are wet as the trail is steep and very rocky. The high route (to the left at the end of the parking lot)is Weel chair accessible. This high route is part of the orange hiking trail through the area and has a camping area with fire place and dry wood along the way. See more..
- 4.5 Store Mosse Nationalpark (85 reviews)
-Fun nature hike through forest and swamp.
National Parks • Parks
We hiked around Lake Kavsjon (Kavsjon runt, starting at Naturum parking lot). Much of the trail is on wooden planks so it should be OK even in very wet conditions. About half way around the lake is a small farm that is part of the park. There are toilets and picnic tables. We took a couple of side trips, one to a bird tower and one to Lake Svartgolen (look for insect eating plants next to the walkway to that lake). With these side trips our hike was almost 17 km long and took about 4 hours. We had a great time and met only very few other hikers since we started our hike early around 9 am. When we returned at 1 pm, the parking lot was quite full. See more..

-A real Sweden adventure!
Zoos
Erik took my husband and me to a real Sweden adventure this afternoon. With his small quad, warmly packed into blankets he took us to the huge premises where the animals live in natural environment. He first took us to the red deers, thereafter to the elks, which for us as Germans was a first. We never saws elks before. With his calm and caring manner to “speak” to the elks the animals quickly came close to the quad so that you (if you were brave enough) could even touch them. The animals are beautiful, impressively calm and much bigger than we thought. It was a pleasure doing this Sweden safarie with Erik and with this meeting him as a person. He was very knowledgeable not only about the animals but also about the country and the Swedish culture. Thank you Erik for the wonderful trip and for answering all my questions! This is real Sweden adventure, highly recommended! See more..

-Smålands Motor, Music and Toy Museum--nice stop on a rainy day!
Speciality Museums
During our summer 2014 visit, while staying in Loevhagen, there were a few rainy afternoons that made a museum visit with our children ideal. We found the automobile and toy museum in the Värnamo city guide, and it was a scenic 45 minute drive from our house. If I recall, only cash is accepted for admission. It is a quaint, old building inside, quite unlike the most modern Swedish museums. There is also an antique shop on the premises with unusual items for purchase. It's a quirky place--taxidermy animals, well-dressed mannequins, and other things were here and there. Our 6 and 8 year old boys were very curious about the moped outside, (one can sit on it), the antique race cars, the old musical instruments and toy trains and cars. I think older adults would also appreciate the shiny European sports cars -- I loved the '38 Mercedes-Benz. We spent 1.5 hours looking around, and we were glad for the diversion on a rainy day! -Perfect place to take a cafe
Spent < 1 hour History Museums
A beautiful place, moving in time. wonderfully recreated store, a large selection of items that you can buy as a gift (teas, local sweets, small home items) all beautifully and with a heart exposed. Here you can drink delicious coffee in a romantic room, eat homemade cakes and you can count on the smile of a friendly owner. We recommend with all our heart - for us this place is a beautiful memory of Sweden. If we return, we'll visit for sure. See you then. Piękne miejsce, które przenosi w czasie. Możesz zrobić oryginalne zakupy (kolekcja herbat, lokalne słodycze, drobna ceramika i mydła) jak i odpocząć w jednym z kilku przytulnych kącików i napić się herbaty, zjeść domowe ciastko. Wnętrze pełne ciepła, widać że tworzone z pasją. Przemiła i serdeczna właścicielka - serdecznie polecamy, jeśli tylko będziemy w okolicy, na pewno powrócimy na kawę i ciastko :) See more..

Oh that was just great! First time we have been there and my 7yo son just loved it. Oh, and we love the programs and entertainment when you could "test" you self :) we also made purchase when leaving, fruit elixirs (syrups) and large leather/canvas travel bag I will use for my business trips. - 4.0 Vandalorum (57 reviews)
-Unexpected little gem
Friday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
Vandalorum is a lively museum. We present unique exhibitions featuring prominent contemporary designers and artists, both Swedish and international. The buildings, reminiscent of the monumental barn that once dominated the site, are built according to an original concept by the award-winning Italian architect Renzo Piano. The interior is designed by Sigurdur Gustafsson in consultation with Vandalorum’s initiator Sven Lundh. The furniture is designed by Mats Theselius, Bruno Mathsson, Hans J. Wegner and Jonas Bohlin, among others. Inside and outside there are permanent sculptures by, for example, Joseph Kosuth, Sivert Lindblom and Gustav and Ulla Kraitz. One of Vandalorum’s four barns is the home of Smålands Konstarkiv, whose exhibitions primarily highlight artists associated with Småland. This barn also contains the extensive collection of Smålands Konstarkiv which is open to the public by appointment. See more..
