- 5.0 Your Gotland Tours (13 reviews)
-Private, intimate and fully customised tour to suit our preferences!
City Tours • Cultural Tours
My husband and I had a 2 day tour around Gotland with Consu. It was amazing! She picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the attractions, while explaining the landscape and history along the way. We also had Gotlandic snacks and sandwiches prepared by her husband by the sea. Being a local, Consu knows her way around the island and could fully customise the tours to our interest. She takes great pride in making sure her guests are comfortable and researches on spots in advance. We are so glad we took this tour with her and had a memorable holiday in Gotland! See more..
- 4.5 Visby City Wall (655 reviews)
-Substantial city walls
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Castles
Visby city walls are in excellent condition surrounding the old city. We walked all the way round the city by the walls, sometimes on the inside and sometimes on the outside. There is a small section where you can walk up one of the towers to get lovely views of Visby. There are several entry gates and towers and lots of information boards to learn about the city and the walls. See more..
- 4.5 Botaniska Tradgarden (637 reviews)
-Beautiful park, a real gem
Spent 2-3 hours Gardens
Amazing place in the middle of Visby. So many rare and beautiful trees. Also lots of flowers, and places where you can sit and take in the surroundings. Such a relaxed atmosphere. Peaceful. A real gem in the middle of the city. See more..
- 4.5 Gotlands Museum (494 reviews)
-Must see if visiting Visby
Friday: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Speciality Museums
Wonderful archaeology museum. Well laid out, and you can spend as much or little time as you would like. This was a cruise ship stop for us and it was "something" to do while in port. We probably spent 2-1/2 to 3 hours there, much to our surprise. See more..
- 4.5 Högklint Naturreservat (280 reviews)
-Worth the little jog off the main path

We added a short spur to a longer bike ride in order to walk the path to the cliffs here. Stunning views and really cool landscape to walk through on the way. Worth the trip! See more..
- 4.5 St. Mary's Cathedral (220 reviews)
-Wonderful Church
Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
This Lovely cathedral is one of the major tourist sites on Gotland. The cathedral consists of a nave with two aisles, a square chancel, a square western tower and two smaller, octagonal towers to the east. It is in pristine condition and is surrounded by pretty houses in an idyllic village setting. It contains a large amount of tombstones and funerary memorials. The oldest dates from the 14th century, and the last was installed in the church during the 18th century. Among these, there is the grave of Eric, son of Albert, the Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and at one time king of Sweden. There is also a memorial in remembrance of the sinking of a Danish-Lübeck fleet outside Visby in 1566 Remember to look up at the gargoyles on the outside!. See more..
- 4.5 Langhammars Sea Stack Field (206 reviews)
-Unique place, beautiful scenery
Spent < 1 hour Nature & Wildlife Areas • Geologic Formations
Amazing place on the north west end of Fårö. I've been here many times over the years, and it's always a special experience. It has something, I can't really describe it, but it's a magical atmosphere. In all kinds of weather... In the summer it can be a paradise of sunshine and birds...in the autumn it can be really dramatic, with heavy clouds and majestic skies.. It's a unique place. See more..
- 4.5 Digerhuvud Sea Stack Field (81 reviews)
-Very cool!
Spent 1-2 hours Geologic Formations
We took the car with the ferry over from Gotland. It was quite a long drive from Visby but it was definetly worth it. I understand that it can be a lot of traffic during the high seasons but in late august we were almost alone on the road. The drive through the nature reserve was amazing, very interesting and beautiful nature. Easy to park and walk around on the raukar. Can reccomend! See more..
- 4.5 Sudersands Strand (66 reviews)

We were delighted to find an immacculate sandy beach with clear and warm water. First week off season, so not very crowded. Well worth the trip. We had a nice lunch in the surfers’ shack on the beach. See more..
- 4.5 När Fyr (64 reviews)
-weird experience.
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Pretty lighthouse. The area looks a bit surreal; sort of a weird experience. Oh, and lots of free roaming cows. It's locked, so I never got to enter the lighthouse, but would like to if I ever get the chance. See more..
- 4.5 Bungemuseet (57 reviews)
-Must visit for history lovers
Speciality Museums
Absoutely loved this place. It is an open air museum with real houses. You get a really great feel of what life was in the old days in the area. It felt like a time capsule. Even though went off season and the houses were locked we could still walk around and was still worth it. It is only 10 mins drive from the port too, to Faro. See more..
- 4.5 St. Karin Cathedral Ruins (55 reviews)
-Beautiful old church ruin
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
Beautiful old church ruin in the middle of Visby. You step inside and you feel like you're being transported in time..The beautiful high walls, the ceilings with intricate brick work, the windows without glass where the sunlight falls in... It's amazing. Such a peaceful atmosphere. Don't miss this place if you're in Visby. See more..

- 4.5 Almedalsbiblioteket (48 reviews)
-Wanna cake? Go to the library
Spent 1-2 hours Libraries
OK, I am a literary translator, so I usually go in search of books, buy books and carry books. In the case of Visby's library though, I love to get there, grab a cake and a coffee, sit and work on my computer in front of the huge glass wall facing the park, taking occasional looks at the gorgeous old town. Pastry is always fresh, coffee is always good, chairs are comfy and if you wanna work, send emails, or chat with a friend, the place is great for all of these purposes. Once I even got an unplanned little concert after working hours! :) Well done, Visby. A library should be exactly this, a magnetic centre of city's life. See more..
- 4.5 Faro (46 reviews)
-Fårö Island, Sweden
Islands
Fårö is a small island just off north of the island of Gotland. You can access the Island by the free ferry at Farosund. The Ferry leaves about every half hour, if you are leaving or arriving on the island very late you can make a reservation. This is a rural island but well worth the visit if you are looking to get off the beaten path. While there is plenty of folks looking to camp in campers and tents, we went for the day. The island offers some great beaches to the east. On the western edge of the island it rock formations along the ocean are a must see. There is an Ernst Ingmar Bergman Museum Center on the Island too, I understand they have classes and lectures throughout the summer. See more..
- 4.5 Folhammar (43 reviews)
-Lovely place
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Wonderful visit. Went last October and really enjoyed the combination of sea and green as you can walk through a forest. The autumn scenery is a little 'cold' but magical. There are spots you can light a fire with benches to sit on and a parking space. See more..
- 4.5 Visby Golfklubb (42 reviews)
-Visby Old Town, Beautiful
Golf Courses
Visby has a very well preserved medieval wall enclosing the Old Town. The Old Town itself is also well preserved and very lovely with lovely parks. We took a guided bicycle tour which included both the Old Town and the area outside the town. It was a great way to see it. See more..
- 4.5 Gannarve Skeppssättning (27 reviews)
-Bronze Age Burial
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Ancient graves in the shape of boats are a feature of Scandinavia. This is the most famous one in Gotland and is located on the west coast just south of the town of Klintehamn. It is clearly visible in a field beside the road, with its own car park and information panel - all in Swedish. By public transport you need to get a bus from Visby to Klintehamn and a second one further south, or walk 5 km as I did. The site is a Bronze Age Ship setting - dating back between 1100 - 500 BC. It is 29m long and 5m wide. This would have been the grave of someone of very high status. The island of Gotland has many ancient sites but few are as easily accessible as this one. Information about the significance of Gotland and its wealth of ancient sites is severely lacking. Gotland Museum in Visby is the best place to stock up on books and maps. See more..
- 4.5 Museum Lars Jonsson (27 reviews)
-Deeply satisfying artistic experience with one of the world masters of the craft
Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums
Lars Jonsson is one of foremost living wildlife artists. His personal gallery and collection S of the village of Burgsvik on Gotland, open to the public from May to September and occasionally at other times, is without question one of THE places to visit for anyone interested in wildlife or painting it - and of considerable pleasure to any person who appreciates artistic talent. As a bonus, the downstairs cafe serves delicious salads, sandwiches and soups based on local and organic ingredients, mercifully free of the excessive salt and fat characterizing too much of Swedish food. As a bonus, you eat among Jonsson lithographs adorning the walls, and you can buy wonderful large size postcards of some of his best works for a few euros. The paltry 6€ entrance fee for the upstairs gallery is one of the cheapest delights anywhere, worth every cent to marvel at original Lars Jonssons as well as other works from top artists around the world. See more..

And most information to bring home, for free, Free entrance too. Bring your kids and let them explore nature. Wonderful people guiding and answering our (foolish?)questions. A must when visiting Southern Gotland! See more..
- 4.0 Lummelundagrottan (368 reviews)
-A nice place to visit
Spent 1-2 hours Caverns & Caves
15-20 minutes cave visiting. The cave is one of the unique caves(thought not the best one). Inside is a bit cold(About 8 Celsius), so it is a good idea to have warm clothes. The ticket seems a bit expensive for such a short visiting. After the cave visiting, take your time and walk around in the area. There are many interesting and cosy things around that you can discover. There is a coffee shop and a restaurant in the area that we didn't try, but they look at least good from outside. May worth to try them. See more..
- 4.0 St. Nicolai Ruin (175 reviews)
-This entire town is amazing
Historic Sites
See more..
- 4.0 Bla Lagunen (172 reviews)
-Amazing place!
Spent 2-3 hours Beaches • Geologic Formations
What a place... We visited Bla Lagunen in May. We had a walk around (approx 40 minutes) and a swim on a sunny and hot day with nobody around. It was very peaceful and perfect for an afternoon. We imagine that there must be a lot of people during the summer so it must be less quite and relaxing. We recommend this place if you go to Gotland. See more..
- 4.0 Surflogiet (95 reviews)
-Yogaretreat at Surflogiet
Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Surfing & Windsurfing
Blessed to stay in the amazing Glampingtents in the best of beds with a group a yogapracticioners. A though through concept. Perfect on the beach to hangout, socialise, eat good food and drinks for all tastes. Maybe stand up paddle, go for a swim or surf. One of the few places at Gotland to sleep directly on the beach. Do not be too hungry when ordering food, you will probably wait a while. Enjoy the scenery in the meantime or take a dip in the ocean. See more..
