We have been on a magical trip from Järnavik to Almö with unbelivably beautiful nature and lovely sunrises and sunsets. Since our trip was in the beginning of the season we were all alone and had the opportunity to pick whatever island we wanted to camp on. We are completely blown away about the trip. Also we had a very good service both before and during the trip. On the tour we broke a paddle and had it replaced quickly. Nonetheless there were high flexibility and kindness from Lennart (who where our contactperson from Paddlekompaniet) which made our trip a great pleasure. It is such an amazing experienced ,the harbour was beautiful and the museum was free entrance when you go on private tour. It is extra ordinary how amazing that is, and the most interesting part is when we went inside the submarine and truly went underwater for real. All the history was on screen we can follow and in english too. Spacious inside and very very well monitored. Highly recommended to visit Karlskrona it is like a hidden gem and you wont regret it. The island is great for day tours, you have time to visit almost all of it. If you're only there for 3-4h, I usually keep to the northern part. Climb up to the lighthouse, go check on the sleeping dragon, pay my regards to the Englishmen on my way down to Bönsäcken, maybe bathe a little there, throw some rocks in the see, and walk back to the village for a well deserved ice-cream. It's often better weather on Hanö than on the mainland, always funny to be in the sun and see the clouds just flying by. Where Hanö becomes truly great is, if you have the opportunity to stay over, after the last ferry has left. Being "stuck" on Hanö on a warm sunny evening is so great and relaxing. See more..

Visited in january, the church was open and I walked in. I Was alone in there, a moraklocka, Swedish for a big standing clock was ticking away inside, beautiful ambiance. I also thought about the history, like when people sought refuge from attacking Swedish armys in this church from the 10th century. Today, the collection basically stock all that existed at the mobile coastal artillery. Here you can see and feel the guns, missiles, vehicles, air defense, fire control and communications equipment, uniforms, see Memory rooms for the defunct regiment KA 2, all in a lovely setting. Much of the equipment is grouped and are partially masked. The museum is in two large showrooms and three smaller rooms. The Wämö park is located a bit of from the city, but is easily reached by a nice walk along the sea or by buss. The park itself consists of old cottages, with a small but cheap café and some animals in larger cages. The atmosphere in the park is great and the surrounding nature is beautiful, making the walking tracks around the park a great alternative if you want to enjoy the nature. The park is on the downside rather small but it's a nice trip and an excellent picnic spot.
