    We saw a wolverine!
Having visited the ABBA museum across the road, we thought it would be good to be outdoors to enjoy the dry weather. Skansen is a treat for walkers, as there are many paths to investigate and corners to explore. There's a treat around every bend, with red squirrels running wild, our first sighting of a wolverine, and playful bears wrestling in their den. There's also moose, bison, owls, reindeer, and more. The houses and farmsteads represent Sweden's history. There weren't many people around during our visit. This made it quiet, yet we were unsure of where we were allowed to go. Would it be OK to open a door perhaps? Those people we did see were dressed for the occasion in historical outfits, as befitting an open-air museum. After a long walk (and a slight slip on a muddy path), we were exhausted. Finding the exit isn't easy, but there are helpful maps dotted around, and you're given a guide when you purchase a ticket. We recommend a visit with a caveat: that you may not see everything you hope to see, but you may see something you've never seen before.

    Excellent Open Air Museum
Very good museum and reasonably priced (£35 for a family of three). There is lots to see and do, although as we went in late October some of the buildings were locked up and there were less displays than other times of year, however we still spent around five hours at the museum, so still good value. The highlights were the Scandinavian animals (especially bears) and Baltic Sea Museum, which is included in the entrance and features aquariums and interactive displays. Our five year old also had fun in the playgrounds.
