We were fortunate to have a glorious day in October. The boat ride and info provided by the biologists on board was worth the price of admission. We did see minke whales, seals, a tuna, and bald eagles. The captain did a great job of maneuvering for optimal viewing. And we got to spend some time with the Old Sow and her piglets! Swallowtail Lighthouse image
We walked the trail and went up into the lighthouse. The grounds are beautiful to check out and contain lots of historical information for reading. The walk up and around the lighthouse are free as well as the parking but to enter the lighthouse itself costs $5 with proceeds going to the maintenance of the buildings. We had a nice sunny day so this was worth the fee and we climbed up to the top for an amazing view. Back in the parking lot there is a small gift shop. It's also worth nothing the park is dog friendly, like most places on grand manan. Definitely worth the stop!! See more..

    - Amazing tour - a “must do” on Grand Manan.
Boat Tours • Dolphin & Whale Watching
Top of the Island Boat Tours image
We would give Steve a higher score if we could! Four of us took the sunset tour on Aug. 28, 2020 and had a blast. Steve and his dad provided a fun-filled, informative tour. Amazing!! We planned a very last minute trip to Grand Manan. We called him up for a tour and even though we were so short notice he made sure he would fit us in! The tour was educational and he kept it upbeat and fun! We were disappointed not to see more marine life, but nobody can guarantee whale sightings. Steve made up for it with an exciting seagull feeding act and a hands-on lesson about lobster traps. Steve is passionate and his love for the island and his work was evident in every word. Highly recommended!! See more..

  15. 5.0 Seascape Kayak Tours Inc. (44 reviews)
    - Absolute must do!
    Kayaking & Canoeing
    Seascape Kayak Tours Inc. image
My tween/teen boys, mother in law and I spent a wonderful half day on the sea kayaks with Bruce. We had some incredible up close encounters with curious Harbor Seals, saw some bald eagles and even a Minke whale! Bruce is extremely knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife, and he shared so many interesting facts with us. He took plenty of time at the beginning to teach us novice kayakers how to use the foot pedals and paddles efficiently, and took plenty of breaks to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves. I would highly recommend booking a kayak trip with Seascape if you visit Passamaquoddy Bay and Deer Island, it’s worth it! See more..
  16. 5.0 Campobello Sightseeing (44 reviews)
    - Excellent knowledgeable, energetic, friendly, flexible guide!
    Sightseeing Tours
    Campobello Sightseeing image
Having lived on the island for many years, Peter is very knowledgeable about both the historical aspects of Campobello as well as local lore. He is enthusiastic and shares his love of history and nature easily as he gives a three hour comfortable van tour of the island. Our group of four adults appreciated Peter’s thoughtfulness. He called me the day before to see if we needed anything and suggested we leave our car on Deer Island. This made the ferry trip more enjoyable, saved us money, and ensured we had no difficulty getting on the ferry to Campobello. He picked us up at the ferry, stopped at the Roosevelt Visitors Center for washrooms, toured various parts of the whole island, and returned to the Center for lunch and a tour of the Roosevelt Cottage given by Center guides.he returned us to the ferry in good time. Peter gave each couple a receipt for our tour and explained the New Brunswick 20% travel rebate program which we had not been aware of. A very enjoyable day! Highly recommend Peter’s tour. See more..
  17. 5.0 Red Rock Adventure (41 reviews)
    - Great Sunset Paddle
Eco Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
    Red Rock Adventure image
This trip has to be timed with high tides, and when the timing works like it did for us, it is priceless. Adam and Nick were very knowledgeable, both about kayaking and the areas we would see around St. Martins. We were well prepped (sea kayaking is much different than lake) before heading out. We made to a remote beach in daylight, and had a nice snack of smoked salmon, cheese, crackers and cucumber. Just enough refuel for the paddle back! We watched the sunset on our return trip and pulled into St. Martins in twilight. Thanks very much Red Rock - can't wait to do this again. See more..

    Distillerie Fils du Roy image
While traveling up the Acadian Peninsula we stopped in at the Distillerie Fils du Roy. What an absolutely amazing experience. We had a great personalized tour Of the distillery by Rosa and then she personally guided us through tastings of their beers (too many to remember but all very good) followed by their distilled spirits. Boy did we taste a lot of good spirits, and boy did we learn a lot about liquor. After an amazing 1-1/2 hours we finally departed with our new found appreciation of beer and distilled spirits, and also a few bottles of both. All of this was free, no charge and no expectations of purchasing any of their products. Other wineries, craft beer or distilleries charge for tastings. If we could give them a 10 we would give them an 11. This was the highlight of our three day staycation. A hidden gem in our province of New Brunswick! See more..

We were accommodated eventhough the place was super busy with groups, and driven up with our gear for a 17.5 km paddle down the Kedgwick River. Staff was super helpful and knowledgeable, and even though it was really busy, we managed to pass the earlier groups and had the quiet, cool, pristine river to ourselves. Paddleing was mostly leisurely, with a few areas that were more tricky with low water and rocks, and some fairly easy Rapids. We made good time, swam 3 times, picnic, and were back in about 4h. Again upon our return staff was awesome. Thanks so much! See more..

    8th Hussars Regimental Museum image
This regimental museum (8th Hussars, founded 1848) is housed in a former railway station in the centre of Sussex. From this station, many local recruits left to fight in Europe. The collection focuses mainly on the Great War and WWII but pays hommage to UN Peacekeepering and the Afghan mission as well. Most of the personal artefacts are connected to the regiment. Several dioramas portray conditions lived by combattants, including a WWI trench and an adjutant's tent from WWII. The tour guide who accompanied us was well informed and obviously engaged with the ongoing development of the collection. Her explanations and anecdotes added immeasurably to our experience. She offered to send copies of a few photographs of the train station and they were waiting for us in email upon our return home. Definitely worth a visit. See more..

Claims to be the World’s Longest Walking Bridge - but I didn’t know bridges could walk…(LOL). Apparently in excess of 600,000 use it every year. See more..

We absolutely loved walking this trail. It was short (the slightly longer version of it was closed) and very well maintained. I love that it is so well cared for and other than people carving their names into the boardwalk it was so prestige. It’s sad that the drought has caused the water level to be so low but that is simply nature. It’s well worth the short walk. See more..

Verger Belliveau Orchard, one of Atlantic Canada's premier grower and supplier of apples, is nestled among the scenic rolling hills of Pre-d'en-Haut village. It’s a family business specializing in the production, storage, packaging and processing of apples. Our Orchard was founded in 1932 and today, as a part of the Atlantic ÉCONOMUSÉE Network, visitors can explore the orchards and the production plant, and speak with the growers to learn about the history of apple growing.
