The tower brings 200 years of history to be acclaimed a National Historic Site. The brochure says it has “a rich history, a spectacular view, a bastion of fun!”. I agree with the first two but “no bastion of fun” for me, it’s undergoing a substantial restoration, so interior viewing was not possible. Still, you can imagine the tower sitting imposingly over the surrounding area, whose combatants were ready to defend Canada at all costs.See more..

Step back in time when France and England fought over Acadia at the isthmus of Chignecto. We went with our grandchildren and they loved the fort...especially all the cannons. It was a safe place for them to ran around and explore for themselves. Don't miss the visitor centre and the museum. There was a scavenger hunt for the kids but we enjoyed finding all the artifacts too. Natalie showed the boys how to load a musket and the hands on experience brought history to life. The children asked lots of questions which is a good recommendation. They both got a junior explorer badges for their efforts.See more..
