    City Hall image
Fredericton's City Hall, built in 1876, is the oldest one still in use in the Maritimes. Visitors are welcomed to the City at the Visitor Information Centre located in the lobby, and can tour the Council Chamber, see the restored clockworks and a series of commemorative tapestries which are on permanent display. *Until 1952, the square in front of the building was used as a public farmer’s market. • *During the late 1800s and early 1900s, the 2nd floor was used as an Opera House, and was the entertainment center of the city. • *The clock is hand wound every day. The hands are 8 ft. long and made out of copper. • *In 2013, the fountain in front of City Hall was restored to its original 3-tiered height. The cherub atop the fountain is affectionately known by locals as “Freddy the Nude Dude”, although his formal title is “Putto with Fish.” See more..

    Keillor House Museum image
The Keillor story touches on place and politics of young New Brunswick. An 1813 home featuring antiques, farm tools, a penitentiary collection and genealogy centre. The Keillor story is not one that you hear often: where, through hard work and diligence, a yeoman-farmer from Yorkshire, England, raised his social status to become a respected Gentleman. The story is woven throughout the Keillor House and touches on place and politics of a young New Brunswick leading through the entire Victorian era and a cavalcade of unique and interesting characters. Your journey also includes the Coach House and the Dorchester Penitentiary exhibit. See more..

While driving to the Centre Provincial d'Information aux Visiteurs de Saint-Jaques, we were looking at the mountains. The trees were colorful. It was amazing! After all, it was fall season. The clerks inside the Visitor Center were nice. What I didn't expect is that they had lots of pictures of Edmunston as well as pictures of New Brunswick. We were able to travel all over New Brunswick without a car, thanks to these attractive pictures. They also had lots of information. I enjoyed my time here. Worthwhile! See more..

St. George Visitor Information Centre image
Completely surprised by other negative reviews as we found the staff who served us extremely knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic when we visited. This is blueberry country and the Visitor Centre is easy to spot - just look for the giant blueberry models! There's plenty of parking to the front. Outside there is an old mini tractor which is great for a photo opportunity. There is plenty of info available including a great heritage map of St George which is a real gem of a town with lots of history and helpful, interesting and fun folk residing there. It is a short walk down to the old wharf which is very picturesque and there are walks along the river and a 15-20 minute hiking loop along the Magaguadavic River called Ducks Unlimited walking trail which starts behind the centre. We stayed for over a week in St George and loved every minute of it. Will be returning again to visit soon I hope unless someone lets me live there permanently! See more..

  16. 5.0 Lameque Visitor Information Centre (1 review)
    - Great day in Lameque!
    Visitor Centers
Lameque is a scenic Acadian island, situated off the coast of northeastern New Brunswick - Lamèque separates the waters of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and Chaleur Bay. Passed through Lameque on our way to Miscou Island Lighthouse & stopped here; we were told that 6 dolphins had swam into the small bay at high tide a few days ago & were in a feeding frenzy due to millions of capelin (small fish) which they likely followed into the bay from the Gulf of St. Lawrence. We drove & parked at bridge where dolphins could be observed in action, up close, in this very lively feeding frenzy. A baby dolphin born there just yesterday swam alongside its mother. Another dolphin was stuck in the mud close to shore & was eventually set free by a kind & adventurous young man who wandered into the water to assist it. Got some great photos! We returned again the next day to observe this amazing event - apparently the 1st time that locals had ever witnessed dolphins coming into their bay! We subsequently followed this on the evening news & learned that, after several attempts, Ocean & Fisheries staff had to "herd" the dolphins back out to the Gulf (their natural habitat) several days later at high tide, Thousands of people came out to see these dolphins daily over the period of time they were in Lameque's bay. Lameque is an awesome little town with quiet sandy beaches, great for family picnics & basking in the sun, even on a nice fall day! Our time spent here was an amazing experience I will always treasure! See more..
