They keep improving their services from offering contactless check in, free coffee, bigger vans for drop off and pick up, and a super easy way to let them know you are waiting for a pick up. The staff has always been friendly and speak English, Slovak and German. We also find it cheaper than parking at the airport and they make you feel like a valued customer. See more..

    Stift Klosterneuburg image
One place. A thousand stories. In 1114, Klosterneuburg Abbey was founded by Margrave Leopold III. For over 900 years, history has been written here and stories have been told. It is those stories that we have collected over the centuries – they make our spirituality as well as the close connection of this house to Austrian history tangible. The story of the Verdun altar (1181) illustrates the history of the abbey’s spirituality as well as its closeness to the people. The altar, apart from its material splendour, served one purpose above all - to make the Holy Scriptures and the Holy Mass easier to understand, even for those who were unable to read and write. The laying of the foundation stone for the abbey church (1114) is a symbol for the abbey’s longevity and its responsibility to create. At this event, wine from its own winery was served. It is the oldest winery in Austria, which has been run by Klosterneuburg Abbey since the Middle Ages. See more..

  17. 4.5 Schneebergbahn (122 reviews)
    - Amazing journey with great views
Spent More than 3 hours Rail Services
    Schneebergbahn image
We booked a ride with Niederoesterreich card aboard Salamander bahn. The climb up and down offers some really amazing views. The train itself is in very good shape. If you are not planning to hike after reaching the top, taking the departure 1 hour after arrival is enough as there is not much to do on the top. Make sure to take snacks / food before the upward journey as there may not be enough options during the journey and on the top. For sightseeing purposes, I suggest to take the trains departing after mid-day as the view of the valley is best enjoyed with some golden sunshine. There are ample of places to sit, relax and enjoy sunshine and food. I personally love the Puchberg am Schneeberg area due to its proximity with Vienna and really great scenic spots however the Schneebergbahn just made visiting this place even better and highly recommend everyone to try this train. - Best Winery Tour Ever

    Winzer Krems image
I've taken numerous winery tours all over the world and this one is the absolute best. The second best one wouldn't even be close. The tour was taken as an Grand Cirlcle Cruise Line "included" tour. I believe that there was was a fee to take the tour; however, I'm not sure what it was. Their guide (photo attached) spoke perfect English and was very informative. The sample wines (3) were fairly decent size sample portions in a nice wine glass. The light show (old spirits), map room, and 3D movie was fansatic. Actually the movie was 5D with some smells and a breeze, etc. and it was so good I was sorry it was only 10 minutes (or so). They had a gift shop with some very reasonale priced wines starting at just under €5 per bottle too. See more..

    Wein & Wachau image
We took the advice of excellent and experienced tripadvisor contributors like Vertical and others and did the the trip on our own; its cheaper and more relaxed; no rushing from one place to the other. We took an early train from Westbahnhof to Melk, a pleasant 1.h 15m trip.We spent the whole morning in Melk. We went on purpose on October 13 the feast day of their patron saint. The main street was very lively full of stalls selling a bit of everything with music all around.(Maybe it would have made more sense if we had stayed the night there; a good excuse to do the trip again in the future!) The Abbey in Melk is a gem. The church was packed with all the school children of the area singing. Then we took the 13.15 boat down the Danube, an enjoyable one hour+ boat trip enjoying the marvelluous views with commentary in different languages while enjoying our apple strudel and hot chocolate. We got off at Durmstein, a very small town with only one narrow main street but really charming and relaxing. Then we took the bus to Krems train station and back to Vienna. I cannot recommend this trip enough, its a Must do if you're in Vienna. You won't regret it. See more..
  28. 4.5 Semmering Railway (78 reviews)
    - Great quick sightseeing or ski trip from Vienna
    Scenic Railroads
    Semmering Railway image
We were in Vienna and wanted to do a quick ski trip so we took the RailJet trip to Semmering (a little over an hour each way) and enjoyed the ride as much as the skiing. A great way to see the foothills of the Alps while you are in Vienna for a short time. Note that, for mountain veterans, perhaps this scenery isn't awe-inspiring. But, if you have not been to the Alps at all this is a great, inexpensive trip. Don't bother with first-class tickets on the RailJet, all seats are good and for an hour who needs first-class. Get a seat on the left-hand side (facing forward) as you'll get the best views going from Vienna to Semmering on that side. The train leaves Vienna Central Station or Meidling which are both on the Uline (subway). If you don't get on the RailJet, the regional train takes a little longer but it's the same route. Make sure you get the flexible ticket for a extra Euro because if you get off and want to hang out in Semmering you can do that with the flex ticket and take whatever train you want earlier or later. For us, we had planned to ski longer but decided to head back earlier so it was nice to be able to hop on an earlier train. See more..
