- 5.0 Stift Admont (242 reviews)
-Not easy to reach but worth it for the Library!
Spent 2-3 hours Historic Sites • Libraries • Religious Sites
A jewel of the Baroque era meets contemporary art. 70.000 restored books, ceiling frescoes and sculptures in the magnificent world largest monastery library meet creations of Erwin Wurm, Rudi Molacek and Lois Renner in the huge museum of the Abbey. The new gothic exhibition 'Close to Heaven' is putting on display a major collection of medieval sculptures and painted panels of the collection Mayer. -The artworks of the late Middle Ages continue to exert a powerful fascination on us even today. Beside there is a Natural history museum with exhibits dating to 1866 - 1906 (the 'Museum in the Museum') and a Museum of Fine Arts as well as plays host to special exhibitions and a multimedia Abbey presentation. -Riesachfall and the alpinsteig are amazing
Hiking Trails
Firstly, even the drive through the valley to reach the Riesach waterfall is absolutely amazing. You expect dinosaurs to come up any moment. The hike up along the river all the way to the lake is fantastic. We did it with our 7yo. It was physically challenging but not that difficult. But count with steep stairs and bridges. But it was amazing and great fun. And the view when the reach the top!! Can’t wait to come back and continue further past the lake. Descent is on the road which is nice and easy on your knees:-) See more..

-Fantastic walk with lovely cafe half way around
Bodies of Water
This lake has a circular walk with fantastic views. The complete walk takes less than 2 hours. If you don’t want to walk too far, you can travel back from the far side of the lake on a pretty boat (8 Euros adult fare). There is also quaint cafe on the far side of the lake “See Wiese”. We stopped there for some tea and cake (also serves gluten free cake!), very tasty. Great afternoon out. See more..

- 4.5 Schlossberg (982 reviews)
-Great views, fun exploring!
Thursday: Spent 2-3 hours Parks
One of our favorite spots in the city. The Schlossbergbahn (funicular) is free if you have a city transport pass and is my kids' favorite thing to do in all of Graz. The views are spectacular! We like to take the Schlossbergbahn up, have a snack and drink in the Biergarten at the top, and then explore our way back down. There is also a great Christmas Market at the top in December. Absolutely a must-do in Graz! See more..
- 4.5 Schloss Eggenberg (717 reviews)
-One of the best things to see in Graz.
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Castles • Parks • Art Museums
The unique architecture of Schloss Eggenberg, the most important great house in Styria, is a complex symbolic representation of the universe. At the same time, with its impressive combination of Baroque interiors (magnificent state rooms), magical gardens and park, and priceless collections of the Universalmuseum Joanneum (Alte Galerie with its old masters paintings, Archaeology Museum and Coin Cabinet), Eggenberg contains a fascinatingly varied panorama of Styrian culture over the centuries. UNESCO World Heritage Site! Please note: dogs are not allowed in the park to protect our peacocks. See more..
- 4.5 Zotter Schokoladenmanufaktur (698 reviews)
-Pure enjoyment
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM Factory Tours
There are just no words! Such a great fun, that we regret not making more time for it in our holiday schedule. The visitor center is just simply crazy. You’re allowed to try over 300 products; ingredients as well as finale products. The design and other little details are very ironic and funny. The “Edible Zoo” (which is to be honest a quite unfortunate name) is soo much fun for young & old. The Farmer’s Golf (challenge track with rubber boots) is sooo creative! Absolutely recommended for everyone!! See more..

- 4.5 Skywalk Dachstein (507 reviews)
-Incredible views
Observation Decks & Towers
We had a Dachstein Sommercard which gave us the whole experience for free. You can usually get it in your hotel or in your rented flat. Just ask for it. It saves you a lot of money because if you need to pay for it it is quite expensive. The views are amazing. I am not really good with heights but this walk is not difficult. It never gave me the feeling of fear or that I am not safe. If you have the Sommercard just try it. If not and you have doubts just don't do it. There is a cafe up there where you can have food an drinks. Or just enjoy the incredible views. See more..
- 4.5 Planai & Hochwurzen (396 reviews)
-Very nice, also in summer
Ski & Snowboard Areas
We came here in summer to enjoy mountains and nature. With the Dachstein Sommercard we had the usage of one cable car of our choice included. That worked quite well, also in covid 19 times. The area itself is great and very beautiful. You'll find a wide range of hiking trails of different difficulties to various places like mountain summits, lakes or alpine cabins. So even outside of winter, this is a nice area to spend your vacation. See more..

- 4.5 Rathaus (176 reviews)
-Very impressive building
Architectural Buildings • Government Buildings
An exceptionally beautiful monumental Renaissance building. The City Hall or Rathaus is located on the beautiful city square Hauptplatz. We were delighted with the beautiful facade that is richly decorated. In the niche images on the facade display are important Austrians (such as the Habsburg emperors) and four great allegory "Art", "Science", "Trade" and "Commerce". In the city hall in Graz, there is the official residence of the mayor of Graz, the local council and parts of the city administration. The history of this building is rich. It was the first town hall built in 1450. In addition to being a city hall, there was also the headquarters of the guardsman and the prison. The interior of the building is richly decorated as well as the exterior. The nearby shopping is excellent, the bookstore as well as the many cafe bars and restaurants surrounding it. The Rathaus is worth a visit. See more..

- 4.5 Arnold Schwarzenegger Museum (124 reviews)
-Charming little museum that should be on a MUST VISIT list for any Arnold or bodybuilding fan!
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Speciality Museums
This is an adorable, well-planned and well-maintained museum giving a pretty good insight of Arnie's early stage of life. It is a tiny mseum (just as you would expect, as it used to be someone's home), right on the outskirts of Graz (20 min taxi from Graz centre, ~25€) and is an absolute must visit place to any Arnold or bodybuilding fans! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Lots of exciting personal items as well as items from movies on display. On our tour in Austria, we visited quite a few museums but this was our absolute favorite because of how intimate and charming it was - no massive crowds, no overwhelming amount of items on display, everything was balanced perfectly and we left with very positive emotions. Thank you so much for an incredible experience we will never forget :)! See more..
