Es war einfach unbeschreiblich toll. Wir haben selbst das Futter zusammengerichtet und dann gings ab ins Waschbärengehege. Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis - sie warten schon alle bei der Tür und sie sind soooo neugierig und lassen sich streicheln und das Personal ist auch mega nett! A well maintained nature-reserve only 17 km from Vienna. There is a little restaurant outside and a kiosk inside. You can hike inside the park to various destinations. I would recommend this reserve for families with kids as there is a big playground and there is also a little petting zoo with guneapigs and rabbits. There are also some donkeys around. The park is well known for its population of wild hogs with their offsprings. The park is accessible with strollers.See more..

We came with our 3,5 yo daughter. She loved the hike. We did only the half and walked back via the forest. It was perfect easy but adventures walk. The restaurant at the parking lot Forellenhof is fantastic. Would also give them 5 stars. Great value and delicious food. You must have the poppy dumpling! They are divine!See more..

Although the man speaking about the birds does the entire show in German, watching the birds in flight needs no translation. Being able to get a close up look as the birds fly over the seated audience made for a remarkable program. The birds fly freely over the valley and return to the handler. Only 2h away from Vienna this alpine paradise is a must see for everyone who lives close to Vienna. The so called "Ötscher base" in Wiernerbruck offers all information you need and the scenic Mariazeller-Bahn train allows you to adapt the length of your hike to your wishes. Different distances are possible from a moderate 3h walk to a full 2-days trip. Your path will lead you past beautiful waterfalls and steep walls of rock as well as through ferry-tail like woods. You cross the rivers over small foot-bridges and if you like you can also go swimming at some spots, although the water is rather cold as one would expect in the mountains. Always good to be up in the mountains especially in the Austian mountains. Only an hour drive from Vienna this is great day out for friend and families. Mountains cart was fan, we did not try other options but others seemed like them. Beautiful nature and really fresh air. Plenty of dining options around too.
