This is a family staffed place on the main street in Dürnstein. In summer a nice outdoor garden in front for enjoying a glass of wine or some good food. Inside you find the Altes Press - the old wine press- this from the 1700s - it is said to be installed before the building was erected and you will see the large size , especially sitting in one of the tables beneath it. Local austrian specialties - look for daily specials on the chalk board just outside the door. Fine selection of wine from the vineyards nearby. A favorite place for bikers traveling along the Danube bike path. Places to park your bike nearby - a standing place outside using an old wine keg as a table. I was really positively impressed of catering in Leobersdorf, but this place spoiled it. First I need to say that the girl taking the order was nice. But that´s then basically all positive to say. There was a guy behind the bar - apparently the only one who knew how to mix - dressed in black & white. And also another youngster behind the bar who did assist in a way but was dressed in a kind of camo looking as coming from a site. He simply did not look as if he belongs there. You really could sense the stress behind the bar due to the two guys jumping around to get glasses filled and bottles sorted. But actually the bar was not crowded. It was just not professional at all. My drink was served in a way that it spilled over the bezel. But no one cleaned that up or did exchange the napkin underneath. Actually I wouldn´t have cared if he had spilled more, as the drink was just like sugar-water - not tasty at all. The drink itself was served by the dressed-up guy behind the bar, without looking at me once. Actually he never looked at any of the guests sitting at the bar. Sorry that's an absolutely no-go in a bar. And no, I do not want to say "Well, it´s only Leobersdorf." Would just not be fair. So basically I can not recommend this place at all, ´cause at least the drink should be nice OR the staff competent. Both is not the case. See more..
