True ambassadors of the Parks

My family and I signed up for 2 tours during our stay in Jackson, WY. Ecotours came highly recommended by friends that were out there in August and raved about the experience. Our first tour was with Drew around Yellowstone which took 12+ hours. He was highly experienced and was a wealth of knowledge to our constant peppering of questions. The tour was laid back and unrushed as he guided us around all the well-known spots of Yellowstone Park. Drew's past as a teacher kept our children engaged while providing an educational experience better than any school could provide. Our next tour was with Roy around the Grand Teton National Park over an 8-hour period. Although shorter, the tour took us around some of the most epic landscapes I have ever seen while his bubbly narrative kept us entertained. Roy's background was with birds and he identified all the ones we pointed to with explanations of how to identify them in flight. Both of these tours were money well spent as we came away with a deeper appreciation of the parks. By not having to drive ourselves, we could relax and absorb everything we saw and learned. I would take another tour from this company and have no problems recommending them to others. You get what you pay for and they didn't disappoint.

All Day Yellowstone Tour—well worth it!
We did the private all-day (6am to 6pm) Yellowstone Tour with Shawn. He came to our cabin at 5:55am and had French pressed coffee, hot chocolate, and breakfast snacks waiting for us. We were off driving by 6:10, and having a great time soon after. By 10 am, we had already seen some great stuff—wildlife, scenery, all the while getting educated about the geology and ecology of the region. Shawn was extremely knowledgeable about the area, and our conversations with him were a major feature of the day. Not only did we learn a ton, but we saw bears, bison, elk, deer, birds, pronghorn along the way. In terms of geologic sightseeing in Yellowstone, Shawn was extremely knowledgeable about the sights, and most importantly, knew the inside tricks for how to maximize our experience, from knowing how best to plan our strategy to view Old Faithful (burst can be off by 20 minutes, and negotiating crowds is even more important than knowing when it will blow), to making suggestions for how to plan pit stops and meals along the way so as to squeeze in the best viewing. Speaking of meals, Shawn supplied a fantastic lunch compatible with our vegetarian diet preference. You easily get what you pay for, and with younger kids in tow (8 and 12 years old), we got the pit stops we needed when we needed them, and the level of comfort during the 12 hour day was excellent. We cannot praise and recommend both the tour itself and our tour guide Shawn enough…both were fantastic!
