- 4.5 Hundertwasser-Bahnhof (113 reviews)
-Interesting and fun
Saturday: 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM Architectural Buildings
Visually interesting but, as others have said, impractical if you're pushed for time, a bit unsteady on your feet or have wheeled luggage. I've used it several times over the years when visiting friends who live locally and have noticed it's not as well looked after as it should be. See more..

From the outside it’s not picturesque attractive old city hall which was built in 1270 and used as the merchant’s guild hall and yet it is worth taking several steps up order to see this building from the inside - one can find the beautiful 19 th century interior decoration: the frescoes which depict the coats of arms of the Hanseatic cities. Magic of strength to be experienced while watching the depictions on the walls. See more..

- 4.5 UNESCO World Heritage - Fagus Factory (43 reviews)
-A must-see living monument of architecture and production
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings
The Fagus factory was built in 1911 by architect and Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius and is known throughout the world as the first building conforming to the modern architectural style. The singular steel-and-glass architectural style enabled the architect to endow a medium-sized factory with an unusual appearance that broke with tradition. Fagus shoe lasts have been produced in this living monument for more than 100 years. This production process has now been enhanced by the corporate divisions associated with GreCon Electronics and Grecon Dimter Machine Building. Since the year 2011, this architectural masterpiece has numbered among the UNESCO World Heritage cultural sites. Visit the Fagus factory, retrace the journeys of Walter Gropius and Carl Benscheidt (the innovative founder of the company) and experience how tradition meets innovation and architecture lines up with production. - 3.5 Historisches Rathaus (9 reviews)
-An eye catcher
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
This eye catching building at the end of the Markt, the main street of Meppen, is the historic town hall of Meppen, built in tje 15th century and enlarged in the 17th century. Due to the architecture and the historic value it is worth more than a passing look. A bit out of tune is the cafe on the ground floor. I found it a bit uninviting, but surely I got this completely wrong. However, this historic building is well up on the list of buildings to visit in Meppen. See more..

-Wunderschön und sehenswert
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Historic Walking Areas • Architectural Buildings
See more..

- 4.5 Synagoge Celle (7 reviews)
-Moving visit
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings • Religious Sites
This approximately 250 years old synagogue serves as a memorial and museum. It also houses religious services. There are some memorial plates in English, but unfortunately all information posters about Jewish history in Celle and about the synagogue are written only in German. The lady at the museum was very friendly, but did unfortunately not speak English. I had a lot of thoughts and questions about the museum, Jewish life and history in Celle and in Germany, but unfortunately language barriers left all my questions unanswered. Nonetheless a visit here is worthwhile for afterthought and reflexion. See more..

I was stationed here from 1977 to 1985 as a British Soldier. Now, of course, its the Town Hall. Ive only been back the once in 2008 and it looks beautiful. The lake now covers the old parade ground. Its such a large brick building, maybe one of the largest in Europe? I wasn't able to get inside as it was closed on the day of my visit. Brought back so many memories. See more..

See more..
