What a great place.....very high standards of bird care evident....extremely clean & tidy...variety of birds is astonishing....plenty of free flight birds to see & the flying displays are brilliant especially when you get Condor's, Parrots, Cranes, Pelicans & Eagles all flying free in formation over a large grassed area. Well priced at 16 euros per person & it takes a long day to see it all. Never been a fan of zoos & birds in cages but this place redefines what can be achieved with proper planning and regard to animal welfare....full credit to the folk who run this it is an excellent place to see birds both in the wild, in beautiful gardens & in large open cages...also many opportunities to get fantastic photo's. This is a nice and small zoo where you can walk in between various animals, like wallabies, dears, owls, parakeets and other birds, prairie dogs, etc. There are no giant animals like giraffes, elephants and bears and it has also a lot of animals which you also see in a petting zoo, like donkeys, goats, rabbits, etc. There is one scenery that actually blew me away. Not far from our base and the relatives in Konigslutter. The Zoo is small but has two cafes and one picnic area. They have two play areas by the cafe also. .so the kids played while we got high on caffeine :) Highlights were 3 Cheaters and two beautiful Siberian Tigers which you can get quite close to safely, and of course the Racoons and friendly bactrian camels who me you can feed by hand. We went here with our boys aged 9 and 6 after we could finally go places without having to get tested. We all enjoyed it,. Yes I agree, that some cages are small for the animals but overall the environment looked beautiful and well looked after. Our boys enjoyed multiple opportunities to go into some enclosures to be with the animals, such as bunnies and goats. The owner even came around and handed out carrots to the children. The play area is a bit run down but still provides lots of fun for the kids. One keeper even came around with the meercats, so that kids can take a closer look. There weren't any shows due to Covid, but that was fine for us. Overall we had a great time there and the kids enjoyed it. I would advise to go early in the morning to avoid the crowd as it fills up rather quickly from midday on.See more..

Lovely park and good value for money. The park is fairly small but there is enough to see. We particularly enjoyed seeing the monkeys who were very entertaining! We spent about an hour looking round and felt this was enough time to see all the animals. It caters for all ages and there is a play area for children as well as a cafe and small gift shop. You can purchase food for the animals and these are located in vending machines around the park. An enjoyable experience for all!See more..

This is a great place for spending a day with little explorers: you can watch and feed some animals. Goats and deers are happy to be stroked and cuddled. We were the only visitors for almost all our visit today,partly because it was Monday and partly because the day had started with heavy rain. It turned out to be a lovely sunny afternoon and we had lots of close face to face contact with llamas,donkeys,horses,some tropical birds,an elephant and others. Just wonderful! Despite being a small terrarium, the owners and staff have a big heart for the animals. When we arrived, we were immediately shown into the terrarium were a staff member had a small python out for display. We were allowed to hold and pet this magnificent snake and had a long and enlightened talk with the staff about their work. They save and bread snakes, spiders and lizards. They said that they help authorities when they seize illegal snakes and so on. The displays are very good and it it clear that the snakes are treated well. The snakes are active and curious and the staff are avaliable for questions and show their passion for the animals. Some parts were being renovated, but for anyone who wants to be close to snakes and meet staff that are willing to share their knowledge about the snakes, this is a must visit. Displays are explained in German, English and French.See more..
