We found this place by a pure chance, and we felt so lucky! The castle is beautiful and well-preserved, and it has amazing views on the town and the park. It is also suitable to visit with children. The entrance fee is about 5 euros per person which is cheap comparing to other, more well-known castles. There are also less visitors there so it would be a perfect place for someone who loves history/architecture and can't stand crowds. There are also plenty of nice cafes nearby, and the town itself is marvelous. I would definitely recommend it as a day trip, and I am going to visit there again!See more..

This little square lined with beautiful historical buildings and with a charming fountain in the centre really lives. There are several option for refreshment, either one of restaurants and cafes with the outside seating or just drink or ice cream to go. The monument is a larger than life equestrian statue of the king in the uniform of the hussars in reference to his 15th The King's Hussars officers of the British army with whom he had served. The monument literally stands in front of Hanover Central Station and along with the station, dominates the public square in which it stands. I was looking forward to actually seeing this lighthouse in person from the first moment I saw a picture on the internet. The yellow and red colours, the shape of the lighthouse, the location on the wild and rough North Sea coast. It turned out to be even better than I had imagined and I fell in love with the area. So much so that I stayed three extra days just a half a kilometre from the lighthouse, to properly absorb the local atmosphere. I am very much looking forward to visiting there again.See more..

We have seen our fair share of picturesque towns in Europe, but Celle must take the crown when it comes to great diversity within uniformity. Relatively few really large buildings but just hundreds and hundreds of beautifully decorated old houses, similar in architectural style and yet so different. The Hoppener Haus is a perfect example, yet just one of the many outstanding places.
