Our visit to this dam was both informative and interesting. Built on the Innerste River between 1963 and 1966 and belongs to the Harz Water Works (Harzwasserwerke), the Innerste Dam lies near Langelsheim and Wolfshagen in the Harz mountains. It is an earth-fill dam with multiple, external, asphaltic concrete layers. The tasks of the dam are the water level regulation, the energy production and the production of drinking water. The dam has a height of about 32 meters and a length of 750 meters making it the longest dam in the Harz. The capacity of the Innerste Dam is 20 million m³ of water. The reservoir of the Innerste Dam also offers many opportunities for sports activities such as sailing, fishing, rowing boats and for angling and camping. We have been informed that whether you are on foot, inline skating or by bike, the Dam is well circumnavigated on paved roads, sporty or contemplative. The visitors can take a break at various points on benches enjoying the fantastic views of the water and the surroundings. See more..
  2. 5.0 Wendebach Stausee (1 review)
