eating is simple outside. Grill is open on Wednesday after 5 pm. Meat is Heidschnucken which is a kind of sheep. You can visit these sheep and see how the dogs keep them in line. Donation of one Euro is asked. Food is great, different days, different foods. They have even a Bratkartoffel day.Interesting. Und erneut zog es mich in die Basaltsteinbrüche mit ihrer wundervollen Ausstrahlung... jetzt im Februar herrlich menschenleer... eine ausgiebige Runde um den Vogelsberger See brachte bei strahlendem Sonnenschein Entschleunigung pur.... Sogar sonnenbaden auf Steinen vor einer mächtigen Basaltsteinwand.... beeindruckende Überbleibsel aus der aktiven Steinbruch-Ausbeute war möglich.... Halb Eisdecke noch , halb offene Wasserfläche funkelnd von Sonnensternen ... da vergesse ich glatt die wuchtigen Leitungen, die über den See gespannt die Gemeinden mit Strom versorgen.... The plan was to hike from Osterode am Harz to Thale with some nights at Prahljust, torfhaus and Elbingerode. Due to the warm temperature, we changed our plans and did only hike to Torfhaus and from there took the public transport to get our car in Osterode. The 3rd day we drove to Schierke and from there walked up to the summit of Brocken. We expected the forrest in Harz would be more flourish but due to the rising temperature and the trees being affected by bark beetles, a lot of trees were therefor “naked”. There is no water post on the route, so you have only have what you can carry with You. We were somehow lucky to find some water sources running down from the hills and mountains. The Wolfswarte mountain has an extraordinary view from the summit, containing a lot of big rocks at the summit, you do not want to miss that! If You have the time. I found this nature wonder by real coincidence and although it is quite little I loved it. It is a former sand quarry partially flooded, partially covered by beuatiful woods. There is a very interesting educational trail, one of the best I have ever visited. Information on the panels are interesting and useful, unfortunately only in German. Trail is very easy, suitable for kids or those with lower physical fitness. It is about 2 km long but you can walk much more as there are many other trails around. Funny think was that whatever path I decided to take it lead me back to the starting point at the Krebsloch in the end. It is easy to find this place. There is an arrow pointing to the trail at parking lot close to pizzeria Carlisi in Velpke. Google navigation will also lead you to this parking if you enter Krebsloch as a destination. You can start at the camping place Am Immenhus too but it will be difficult to find a parking place. Be aware that entering the camping place with a car is only allowed when you have a camping booking.See more..

This short easy trail can be found just a few steps from the parking lot in Langeleben, next to the road L652. It is a round trip about 1 km. The narrow path around lakes, old trees together with a romantic spring house and a castle ruin made me feel like in a fairy tail. It was very enjoyble experience. I made it a part of longer hike through Reitlingstal but I think it is worth a separate trip as well.See more..

In Otterndorf führt parallel zur Straße, auch ein schöner Fußweg, von ca. 2 Kilometern Länge an den Nordseestrand von Otterndorf. Der Weg ist mit dem Namen " Philosophenweg " gekennzeichnet. Der Fußweg befindet sich an der Muggendorfer Straße, er ist nur ein paar Meter vom "Capio-Krankenhaus", zu finden Der Philosophenweg ist ein sehr schöner Fußweg,durch schöne Natur bis hin zur Nordseeküste. Er führt an Obstplantagen und alten Bauernhof vorbei, zielstrebig zum Deich, und dahinter liegt die Nordsee. Der grüne Strand, auf dem die Strandkörbe stehen, ist für einen Nordseestrand etwas besonderes, das ist jedenfalls meine Einschätzung, da ansonsten Strand, immer mit viel Sand in Verbindung zu bringen ist. Blühende Wiesen waren hier im April 2019 zu sehen. Rasenmeher verwandelten die Wildblumen-Wiesen in einen grünen Strand-Bereich Große Schiffe sind ganz dicht in Strandnähe zu beobachten. Die Stadt Hammburg feierte Hafenfest, große Segelschiffe waren auf den Weg zum Hafenfest, und sind hier am Strand von Otterndorf gut zu beobachten gewesen. Zur Hauptsaison, ist der grüne Strand von Otterndorf sicherlich die Atraktion, in der Region, hier an der Nordsee-Küste.....See more..
