    Awesome museum
Very interesting museum for boys of age from 3 to 103. Fantastic collection of vehicles. Definitely "must see" if you are in Einbeck.

    Alarmingly good
Visited this converted building en route to a return business flight back to the UK. The first surprise was the quality of the food in the restaurant that we enjoyed for lunch. The steak was first class; tender and moist and cooked to perfection. The accompaniments were in the same league and a local beer rounded off a near perfect lunch. The only incursion that took some of the gloss off of the pleasantries was the fire alarm that had been set off accidentally but took a good ten minutes to silence; sadly with typical german efficiency the alarm was ear-piercingly effective but made conversation stilted at best! The Museum itself charges for entrance and there are added attractions on-site [whilst we were there a father and son were "racing" one another on the Porsche simulator with comic results]. The venue makes best use of the industrial nature of the building and the exhibits are well sited and chronologically "tiered" as you go up the levels - use the lift for a surreal experience! Nice touches include some multiple exhibits of the same vehicles [like motorcycles] in differing stages of restoration.. There is a gently challenging simulator that allows you to test drive an old car with the inherent challenges of no power steering, offset pedals and limited gear selection which is FoC. Far better way of whiling away the hours before a flight then an airport lounge and far better food to boot. Well worthwhile a diversion to do both; nice example of "lunch&learn". If you are in anyway an anorak and of a similar age as me watch out for the shop at the end of the museum walk tour; there's enough nostalgia to delay you beyond your flight times!
