The Voerman Stadsmuseum Hattem is a museum for art, history and archeology. The paintings of Jan Voerman senior and his son Jan Voerman junior are the core of the museum. Senior painted the river IJssel in aal of its appearances and Junior painted very detailed paintings of flowers and insects. But there is more: the 4000 year old bellbeaker, the remains of the castle Dikke Tinne and more paintings from famous painters who painted Hattem. The Renkumse Molen is a mill from 1858. In 2013 the mill was restored after it was severely damaged during World War II. Now the mill is again grind and in the store (open all week) you can get several flour products. Every Saturday from 10:00-16:00h you can visit the Renkumse Molen. This church is impressive for Dutch standards. It is not so big and remains a frank and cozy interior and atmosphere. Worth the detour and the visit. Be aware that the opening times are a bit off. Sometime between 1400 and 1630. And not every day! But please check!See more..

Since we visited the highest point of the Netherland the day before, we just had to visit this place as well when we passed it on our route. We had some difficulties finding the exact location. There are hardly any road signs, but with help of google maps we managed. The place it self is nothing special. It is more the idea that you have been to the place.See more..

"Oeren Hard" is the most famous song of the Dutch Rock Band Normaal. Hummelo is the hometown of Benny Jolink, the lead singer of the band. Sluishuis van het Ampt van Neijkerk ligt langs het fietspad rond het IJsselmeer en wordt door de Rijksgebouwendienst als volgt omschreven: Dwarshuis van begane-grond met hoog schilddak, XVIIIc. Deuromlijsting met pilasters op hardstenen basementjes en met eenvoudige gesneden versieringen. Boven de deur gesneden en gepolychromeerd wapen met opschrift "Het Ampt van Neijkerk". Vensters met twaalfruitsschuiframen. In het dak twee dakkapellen met frontons. Hoekschoorstenen met windvanen. Het was vroeger een restaurant, maar dat bestaat niet meer.See more..
