Very suitable for two to three hours walk during the afternoon, feeling the wind and the sun in your face (use sunscreen). Take a rented scooter from Shangri-La (roughly 30 mins ride) and spend 30 RMB on entrance. Don't ride a horse, just walk yourself. Preferably wear shoes that you don't mind getting dirty or muddy, but if you are careful it's not necessary. Take a camera to take photos of the mountains surrounding the valley and the horses/mules, sheep and yak. See more..

Stayed overnight at Red land at Kunming Jindong Hotel in Hongtudi Village near Huashitou Village in the heart of the redlands. Hotel arranged a car and driver from mid afternoon till sunset and an hour before sunrise till mod morning for RMB 260. Visited 8 different locations with fantasic views - some good in morning some in afternoon. Beautiful landscape. This is one of the most wonderful botanical gardens I've seen in China, much less the world, and I've seen a number of extraordinary gardens. You do need to be aware that it is about an hour outside of town and you may not be able to get a DiDi to it. Other ride sharing apps, tour buses, and a very inexpensive public bus can get you there. I suggest you pay for the electric carts if you can because there are 23.5 km of trails. Barring that, make sure you explore all the Chinese Academy of Science's gardens. Flowers, fruits, and vines are amazing. Then do as much of the rain forest as you can. It is a different world. See more..

There are three cableways up the mountain - Gantong (goes half way), Ximatan (the longest one), and Zhonghe (as of today, only available for people who work there). The mountain is amazing, it offers great views and some nice walks. The hiking is easy as the most work is done by the cableway. On top of the ximatan cableway it gets very cold, but you can rent a coat (how smart is that?). Unfortunately as of now the hike from Gantong cableway to zhonghe one is not available, as you have to take the same way down as you took up, which is a pity, because the trail is really awesome there. As I visited during the low peak season, getting there was challenging, as there wasn’t any direct public bus. I ended up taking 2 public buses plus a short private car ride to the top entrance. Entrance fee is 95rmb. I spent about 3 hours leisurely walking downhill to the bottom exit. By the way, both top and bottom serves as entrances as well as exits. As there was only 1 trail, exploring the area was easy. The tiered waterfalls were picturesque and beautiful, with many photography spots. Suggest to take the bamboo raft (10rmb per pax) which brings visitors closer to the waterfall for better view and photo shoots. Restrooms were located along the trail. なんと博物館が2014年12月31日付けで改装のため閉館になっていた！ショック、昨日ではないか。掃除のおじさんにもクローズだと言われ、しばらく佇んでいると、中から人が出てきた。国籍を聞かれ、日本だと答えると、街を聞かれ、横浜だと答えると「日本人は友達だから特別に入れてあげよう」と中に入れてくれた。掃除のおじさんが灯りを点けてくれ、三輪車の運ちゃんと一緒に歩いていた中国人二人と一緒に中に入る。中には澄江で見つかった貴重な化石が分かりやすく展示されていた。見応えもあったが、それより、日本人は友達だと言って館内にいれてくれたことの方に感激した。電気をつけてくれた掃除のおじさんにお礼を言うと「お礼は彼に言え」とのこと。中に入れてくれた「日本人は友達」と言ってくれたおじさんはこの博物館の責任者だったようだ。思わぬ人情に触れて澄江の街に戻る。 See more..

We were taken into this natural reserve from Ludian where we were staying, a 2hr drive. I think in time the tourist centre will be quite smart, but at the moment there is an unfinished air about it. This did not detract from the scenery at the viewpoints which were quite the most spectacular that I have seen anywhere in the world. We were taken to one of he viewing points on horseback for 20 Yuan each, an inexpensive way to add to the enjoyment of he area. On the day we visited, the viewing points were above the clouds and the distant scenery, far below us, drifted in and out of view lending the place a quite mystical feel. There were a few other tourists but the site was far from being crowded though I suspect as tourism and access is developed in the area it may become crowded. There were tourist buses in the entry. So please be aware that this remote villige may not be so quiet as you expected. Nevertheless, if you walk a bit further away from the crowd, it is a special place to be. Why I say it is the strasbourg in China? Because the same as strasboug, Mengjinglai has also changed hands between China and the neighbouring countries. At the edge of the villige, one can see the border river floating quietly, and the otherside is already Burma. What interesting is the bilingual introduction of culture and history. it is also not far from the official gate between Burma and China. The Tropic of Cancer runs through a park on the outskirts of Mojiang 墨江。 On certain days of the year, statues here don't cast a shadow. Climbing the (many) stairs of the park to the top provides an excellent view of the town and surrounding hills. There's a planetarium which is open at night. Entry to the park is 30 Yuan. Mojiang has a second distinction: It has more twins per capita than any other city in China. Some people believe it's the water, others just shrug their hands. Once a year (in May) they hold a big celebration in honor of twins. Because of the yearly twins festival, the town has lots of lodging options. Getting to Mojiang requires a bus ride of about four hours from the far south of Kunming. If you go, you should probably spend the night. It's also a great place to experience Hani minority culture. 哈尼族。You can eat lots of dishes made of bamboo shoots 竹笋 and wild mountain plants, including wild mushrooms. See more..

很多事情已经见怪不怪了，但是之前在很多次的旅行中都会遇见一些怪事，有些时候是因为风俗的不同而闹出了一些笑话，也会出现对当地的一些习俗的不太了解而闹出了尴尬的事情，但是对云南的一个城市一直心存敬畏之心，就是弥勒市，在开始经常会在弥勒市和弥勒寺这两个称呼之间分不开，不知道是寺还是市，对于一些省份的人有没有加h根本分不清，所以错把市当成了寺。
所以今天介绍的这个景点也是在弥勒市这边，那么会是一条怎么样的路线呢？弥勒市→锦屏山景区→弥勒寺这两个景区。而这次的路线都在弥勒市内所以不需要花费太多的时间进行来回走动，而这个景区中有不少的景点都是比较不错的，尤其是这个市的名字很多旅客可能已经想到了这次最大的景点就是弥勒佛了。
弥勒市在云南的交通还是比较方便些的，比如说在昆明或者是大理以及在丽江都有比较好的交通方式来直接到达弥勒市这里，并且还有公交车会使得在在市内进行出行的话会比较方便不少。尤其是这次路线的景区都是在一块所以之间的切换很方便，所以比较建议大家在这边可以进行待上一天去看看这里的风景，而速度过快也会过度劳累。
在这条路线中锦屏山河弥勒寺两个是在一起的，锦屏山景区中包含了弥勒寺，也是该景区中一个比较重要的景点。
锦屏山，每个地方的人可能都熟知这座山，因为叫锦屏山的山太多了，而我们今天的主角则是云南的锦屏山。到了这里你会发现山清水秀地势陡峭，四处看见的都是高大的林木，因为林木多自然空气就比较清新，环境优美，景区中的弥勒寺恢宏大气，香火很旺，各地前来游玩的游客都上香许愿，也有不少佛教信徒慕名而来，僧人门念经，这里是一个可以放松心情和洗涤心灵的地方。
不过要想在锦屏山景区中看见弥勒佛还是比较困难的事情，因为需要自己走上1999个台阶才能走到弥勒寺这里，而1999级台阶一般需要走半个小时，如果中途休息的次数比较多的话需要花费一个小时才行。不过登顶之后看见弥勒佛还是一件不错的事情，当然如果觉得自己无法攀爬上来的话可以选择电瓶车也是一个不错的选择。
当然看完了弥勒寺之后就该去锦屏后海去看看，锦屏后海位于彩云之南佛地弥勒锦屏山风景区东部，山水环绕，景色宜人，不过一直游人并不是很多，并且这里的景色不是很耐看相对于其他来说只能用一般，不过交了门票不去白不去，里面还有民间表演还是比较可以的。
弥勒市中拥有世界上最大的弥勒佛高达1999厘米，并且还需要游客们走1999级台阶才能到达这里，不少的佛教信徒都会来到这里去朝拜。 See more..
