A place most expats in China have probably been to at some point. A truly breathtaking spot which is actually quite easily accessible. This is a hike with astonishing nature, gorgeous views and amazing scenery. It's not a particularly challenging hike either and the route is usually split over two days to make it even easier. The stay over point is aptly named 'Halfway'. If you're lucky and the sky is clear you can get amazing night sky views. Lots of animals roam around here. And the sweeping hills are awe inspiring. A worthwhile visit although not as stunning as the higher mountain views in this area. As a solo traveller I didn't mind the various "toll payments" as you progressed into the gorge, although some larger groups expressed their disapproval quite loudly. It might have been avoided had a full list of prices simply been displayed on entering that area. People could well act irately as this subterfuge, but really it wasn't so much and the experience was quite enjoyable.See more..
Went to this beautiful resort on a Monday, with the train from Yibin it took us about 40min to get off at Shuifu station. There we walked up to the main road to find a taxi. Dropped us off at the front tourist center. A few hotels inside the resort. We spend 380 Yuan for a room (all pools included), a lot of different hot pools to choose from as well as a big wave pool (closed when we were there) Will definitely visit againSee more..

Excellent is all relevant. If your looking for 5 Star travel and accommodations then is not for you. If your looking for a 5 Stars in experience then this valley will meet it. The road from Liuku to BingZhongLuo is narrow but is in good condition. There are some great views of the river along the way and on the south side of BingZhongLuo at the 1st and 2nd bends. There are equally great views if you travel further north to at least the first bridge crossing. Spend a couple of days in BingZhongLuo, walk to the 1st bend lookout to watch the sun rise in the snow covered mountain. The White against the Black is stunning. During the day the go to both lookouts to sit and take in the views. Travel further north past another lookout at river level and Fog Village and up to the bridge. There is a fee to pay before you enter BingZhongLuo, we got there late so didn't have to pay it.See more..
We visited Kunming Qinglong Canyon on our 3 day visit to Kunming. We were using a private van that took the family to this canyon. It was an adventure park set in the forest by a river. It has setup for rope course, Tazan swings, slides and other challenges that are great for teenagers. It is located quite a distance from Kunming on narrow roads. It took us at least one hour or more to get to this location. There were not many people the day we were there. It was raining heavily soon after we arrive and many attraction including the long slide was closed for the day. Get a good weather forecast before you go.See more..

We went with friends in 3 MPVs. Narrow roads only one car can pass for each direction. Once there was a slight landslide, we were stranded for about an hour, waiting for the people to clear the road. Its norm for them. Suitable for adventurous people. We enjoyed the Nu ethnic & Lisu ethnic 手捉饭 We enjoyed the view along the Nu River. If have more time, go up to Dulong River - it's even nicer, remote & more peaceful. The river was so raw.....See more..
