At the center of Guandu Old Town located the well-preserved Jingang Pagoda (金剛塔，Vajra Throne Style Pagoda). Dating back to 1458, It is the earliest diamond-throne pagoda in China. The Vajra Pagoda is a stylized version of the Mahābodhi Temple constructed at the site of where the Buddha was enlightened in Bodh Gaya , Bihar State, India. Only six Vajra Pagodas remain the world, among which five are in China. Unlike some other Vajra Pagodas, there are no ornate decorations on the walls of the main structure. Very nice! Ended up sitting at one of the shops and having tea for a few hours, chatting, as the shopkeepers explained the different types of pu'er tea and how to drink it. We bought a few packets, and then wandered around the remaining shops. Most of them sell in bulk and/or online, but they also sell smaller doses, and people working there are happy to answer questions and tell you about their homegrown tea. See more..

Beautiful setting for a market. There are plenty of things to see, and do. At the top, by the temple its streets and stalls but as you go down, behind the temple and closer to the river the square opens out into food places on the river side, a stage with local perfomances. The items for sale can certainly be found elsewhere but most of the fun is wandering around, taking photos and finding great things to eat. The night market is one of the best I've ever been to. So many different stalls to buy a lot of local handicraft goods, not just tourist souvenirs. For unique gifts or buys, you need to come here. The food is also pretty good, reasonably priced for a tourist destination. Make sure to just look for the cleanest stall because some are not very hygienic. I didn't get sick eating three nights in a row here, which is very surprising given night market food in general. This is a great photoshoot spot with a lot of amazing sights. You'll also see a lot of people wearing the local clothing for photoshoots. Just don't get scammed, make sure to look at reviews online as there is a lot of people trying to sell you.See more..

I visited this place in October 2018. I live in Chenggong. So I take subway line 1. got down at Dounan station. It is very near to subway station. the market is really a place worth to visit. Roses, Tulips and all kind of flowers are there. Also you can buy trees, plants, seeds etc. I bought 2 pot plants. very cheap in price. in the second floor there are small shops for pot flower plant. The ManChunMan Temple (曼春滿佛寺) is located inside the Xishuangbanna Dai Cultural Garden (see separate review). Reputedly the first temple set up by the southern Buddhists in this region more than 1400 years ago. Current buildings mostly rebuilt in the '70s after devastation by in the Cultural Revolution. Very well respected and with international followers in annual Buddhist events, it has received credentials and gifts from numerous Dai royal houses and Buddhist institutions. Typical Dai style in a relatively small area. Many photogenic spots and surprisingly few visitors on the day of our visit. The Main Hall, Buddha wishing pond, colourful buildings and especially the murals are noteworthy. See more..
