This was one of the highlights of my whole trip to Yunnan. The scenery from the top is absolutely stunning and I have no idea how the water can be so blue! We drove here from Shangri-la in January. The roads were icy and some larger cars were struggling to get up the hills, but we managed in our little car. We stayed in a guesthouse in the village at the bottom called Naxi Family (phone no 15284574386 - they only speak Chinese), then watched the sunrise the following morning which was incredible! 2 hours is enough to see this, but I would thoroughly recommend staying overnight. As I visited during the low peak season, getting there was challenging, as there wasn’t any direct public bus. I ended up taking 2 public buses plus a short private car ride to the top entrance. Entrance fee is 95rmb. I spent about 3 hours leisurely walking downhill to the bottom exit. By the way, both top and bottom serves as entrances as well as exits. As there was only 1 trail, exploring the area was easy. The tiered waterfalls were picturesque and beautiful, with many photography spots. Suggest to take the bamboo raft (10rmb per pax) which brings visitors closer to the waterfall for better view and photo shoots. Restrooms were located along the trail. Easily one of the best hikes I’ve taken in China. Easy paved trail with stairs but some pretty steep switchbacks near the end. Sadly litter is everywhere.See more..

This is a pretty waterfall more or less inside Tengchong, so getting there is quick and easy. The day I was there, no entry fee was required, though there may be in high season. Not sure. You can take a short hike down some steep stair to get closer to the waterfalls and the obligatory photo-ops. Not amazing, but worth 30 minutes or 1 hour max. A couple small pavilions in the area as well. Not crowded when I was there, right after Spring Festival. In summary, this is an easy place to add to a day trip itinerary, but not a destination that would justify coming to Tengchong all by itself.See more..

I have been this mountain many times, most were trekking or plant explore. i like the nature views and rich biological species. and the local minority people are so kind and so honest, they always gave many help during we trekking. There are not many old houses, and everything is under construction (very dusty). But, what I liked is that Babao is not a commercial village, and you still can see the peasants planting rice, grandmas carrying their nephews on their backs and grandpas smoking their cigarets. The locals are also friendly and curios... we got invited in their home for a cup of tea. At first I was a bit disappointed about how it looks with all those new buildings but hey! this is the New China! Everything under construction! I would recommend this place only to travelers that have plenty of time - if you're on a short trip to Yunnan then better try to visit some other places.See more..
Cixiong Waterfall also named Twin Falls, is part of the Jiuxiang Scenic Region. The unique thing about these falls is the water from the gorge passes through a cave before falling 30 meters down to a pool. At first we only saw one waterfall. After walking down some more, we saw the second falls meeting the stream rushing and splashing down. What a marvellous sight to watch with colourful lighting. In this big cave there are many more to see. “The Fairy Vale”, “Bat Cave”, stalactites, stalagmites and rock pillars. Wear comfortable shoes, parts of the path are narrow and wet. There are lots of steps down to explore the cave, and 336 steps climb back up. But don’t worry there are “Chair carriages” available and cost 60 RMB. Beware of some porters, half way up, I heard they asked for more money, and the lady end up gave them 100 RMB. Even 100 RMB is still reasonable. Happy Travelling!See more..

We arrived to the site after struggling to find the roads because most of them are closed from different reasons. Unfortunately the site was also closed but we could walk on side road to see the water flooding. We will come back for sure after the site will be opened again.See more..
