Ok to visit if you have enough time!
There are not many old houses, and everything is under construction (very dusty). But, what I liked is that Babao is not a commercial village, and you still can see the peasants planting rice, grandmas carrying their nephews on their backs and grandpas smoking their cigarets. The locals are also friendly and curios... we got invited in their home for a cup of tea. At first I was a bit disappointed about how it looks with all those new buildings but hey! this is the New China! Everything under construction! I would recommend this place only to travelers that have plenty of time - if you're on a short trip to Yunnan then better try to visit some other places.
