Stayed at the Hump, a foreigner friendly hostels just above the square. Daytime, the place is so so , feels poor. Even fake. But nighttime, once the lightnings are on, looks fabulous I recommend sitting on the Hump terrace and enjoying the historical site See more..

A large garden of a wealthy merchant family. This one had a lot of appeal and enjoyed walking in there with my guide, he provided a lot of insight into this garden. A hotel is also inside here, but no real amenities for the hotel other than the beauty of the garden and surroundings. Worth the visit and to take photos. See more..

This is the village where The Linden Centre is located. If you are not staying at the Linden Centre you should really come here for a day to explore the narrow alleyways, the old houses and of course to visit the Linden Centre for lunch or a tea on their amazing back terrace. The village has a really good morning market every morning and if you hire bikes or a horse and cart you could do a nice trip down the the tongue of Er Hai lake and explore some other villages on your way. This temple is in the Black Dragon Pond Park, was relocated and reconstructed here, have more than 300 years history, still well kept in excellent condition, worth the time to visit, a lady there may offer lighted incense to you to pay respect, don't accept it, as it may end up with money involve afterward, just act natural and refuse, this is one of a trick commomnly practice to get tourist money, don't fall for their game. The temple is one of the well known lamaseries among five in Lijiang. The highlight of Yufeng temple is a 500 year old Camellia in the Northern courtyard. This tree has an intricate pattern of twisted stems, and shows thousands of flowers. Tree lovers will also appreciate a rare species of a Yunnan Michaela Figo, that has a less respectable age of only 200 years. See more..

The night market is one of the best I've ever been to. So many different stalls to buy a lot of local handicraft goods, not just tourist souvenirs. For unique gifts or buys, you need to come here. The food is also pretty good, reasonably priced for a tourist destination. Make sure to just look for the cleanest stall because some are not very hygienic. I didn't get sick eating three nights in a row here, which is very surprising given night market food in general. This is a great photoshoot spot with a lot of amazing sights. You'll also see a lot of people wearing the local clothing for photoshoots. Just don't get scammed, make sure to look at reviews online as there is a lot of people trying to sell you. See more..

Baoshan Stone Town is an old and small town with one hundred families built on a huge stone on the upper Yangtze riverbank, located 110km to the North of Lijiang, Yunnan Province. This town was built in the late 13th century and resided by Naxi Ethnic Minority ever since then. With one side facing the Upper Yangtze River, the other three sides are steep cliffs. Unforturately, no bus available currently linking Baoshan Stone Town and Lijang. It is about 3 hours drive there. See more..

This pagoda as such is not very interesting for non-buddhist who has seen religious sites before. It is very old (800 years or so). The avtual color of this white pagoda is more gray, and it was a lot smaller than I expected based on some photos I had seen. Anyway we had great time in the village of Manfeilong (village of flying dragon), where our kids enjoyed making some pottery in a traditional way. See more..

This attraction is free but you can no longer enter to tour. Our driver called some people in the town and they informed us about this change. It is still nice to walk around and you can see quite a lot. Very well preserved for an ancient mansion in China. It is also at the beginning of the Qiluo Ancient Town which is an amazing place to walk around if you like architecture and friendly people. See more..
