4.0Double Dragons Brige(63 reviews) - Historic Bridge Built Soundly to Last Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Ancient Ruins • Bridges
The bridge was initially built in the 1700s during the reign of the Qing Dynasty and was added on to in the 1800s becoming a 17 arch bridge. No motorized traffic is allowed now. It is considered one of the 10 most beautiful bridges in China. The setting is beautiful and I had a clear day to see it and walk across. It is named Double Dragon Bridge because of the two rivers that meandered like dragons across the landscape and join near the bridge.See more..
Today, we had a wonderful walk trough the mountains and the monastery and finally we had a nice swim in the hot spring pool. Without this tourguide we didn't know this kind of place so we defenitly can recommend to go with a private tour guide who can show you some nice places including this water pool. If you're planning to visit Shangri-La, you should defenitely contact this guide! His number is 0086(for china) + 13988702359.See more..
4.0Wanding Brige(4 reviews) - interesting historical spot... to see border patrol and drug police Historic Sites • Bridges
although there isn't much to do in Ruili, i still thought Wanding Bridge was interesting and worthy of visit for someone who's never been to the China-Myanmar border. because i live in a city in southeastern China, i have only seen Chinese border patrol soldiers, Chinese drug police, and illegal immigrants in China in action movies or on television, and this was the place where for the first time i saw all these things in real life... for me it was a reminder that there are places in this country not as safe or developed as the cities in the southeast, and that, at risk of sounding condescending, there are young people devoting themselves in faraway places void of luxuries and comforts keeping this country safe. So i thought it was worth a review on Tripadvisor. In addition, the Wanding bridge is also said to be the crosspoint where Japanese armies were driven out of China at the end of World War II.See more..
5.0Diehong Bridge(1 review) - "I will take this natural beauty anytime" Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bridges
Diehong Bridge is part of the Jiuxiang Scenic Region. It has a few major scenic spots. Diehong Bridge is one of the spots and is easy to miss. If our tour guide did not point it out we would miss it for sure. This is a subterranean natural arch not a man made bridge. When entering from the trail outside, walking into the cave, the eyes needed time to adjust. Below the bridge is the rushing river pushing down to the gorge. Above the bridge there is a rock formation looking like an eagle spreading out his wings protecting the bridge from an angle. The sunlight shines through the open space from the eagle. I will take this natural beauty anytime. When you start to explore Jiuxiang Scenic Park, there is no turning back because there's only one way (forward). But it's worth it, just wear comfortable shoes. Some parts of the path are narrow and wet. Happy Travelling!See more..
