Marvellous Sight
Cixiong Waterfall also named Twin Falls, is part of the Jiuxiang Scenic Region. The unique thing about these falls is the water from the gorge passes through a cave before falling 30 meters down to a pool. At first we only saw one waterfall. After walking down some more, we saw the second falls meeting the stream rushing and splashing down. What a marvellous sight to watch with colourful lighting. In this big cave there are many more to see. “The Fairy Vale”, “Bat Cave”, stalactites, stalagmites and rock pillars. Wear comfortable shoes, parts of the path are narrow and wet. There are lots of steps down to explore the cave, and 336 steps climb back up. But don’t worry there are “Chair carriages” available and cost 60 RMB. Beware of some porters, half way up, I heard they asked for more money, and the lady end up gave them 100 RMB. Even 100 RMB is still reasonable. Happy Travelling!
