Magnificent
Magnificent place to visit. An easy level at 3200m so walking through the meadow is easy. It was a dream came true for my dad and was an incredible experience for us both.

One day trip from Lijiang
Beautiful and wild. Occupied by shepherds with flocks of sheep, goats and yaks. The backdrop of the mountains makes this place very beautiful and there are wild flowers to look at too.

It's worth a half-day trip
It's worth a half day trip (and if you can afford, a whole day trip) on this plain. Once up there, it's better to buy the Battery Car (BC) ticket for RMB$60 that takes you to all the four scenic spots. It is a hop-on-hop-off one. Simply take as much time as you like to take pictures there. We spent more time at the first stop where can see a grassland surrounded by spruce pine, with the Jade Lion Mountain in the background. Take the wooden boardwalk to go around the grassland for pleasure. Then take the BC to the rest of the spots, along which you can see the small river running down the valley with small waterfalls here and there. Though it is off-season, there are still quite a bit of tourists. So when taking pictures, be quick once you find a "window spot".
