Really nice place

This lake is A very nice to visit. This a very big place to spend about two to three hours. This is a long walk but don't miss it. It is a very impressive view.

    Cycle all way round!
    We were with Lily Zhang of Xintou Yunnan Ecotourism and we cycled all the way round the lake from Laishihai, We visited the Budhist Tenple and many little villages. Lily's family, Naxi farmer's, live in Laishihai and she knows thepeople and area so very well! It was a super day.

    Entertainment park not a wildlife park
    The lake itself is fine and even now end April had a few crane and bar headed geese not yet gone back to Tibet. The visitor centre adds no value to the experience and the wetland park is an eco-disaster - no surprise there are no birds except fake plastic ones to compensate for the ruined environment. Pitiful loudspeakers complete the fakery. That said if you arrive early say 8am before the crowds the experience is peaceful and worthwhile i saw the horses but no touts
