    Ranches
    Rowse's 1+1 Ranch image
One of the best vacations, if not the best, I’ve had. Traveling solo, not sure what to expect, needn’t have worried. Other guests were so much fun. Tammy, Jerry and gang made you feel welcome. Like staying at a favorite aunt and uncle’s house when you were young. There is LOTS of riding, and riding, and riding. Then more riding. If you choose not to ride one day, no problem. Tammy taught me how to make cheese the day I stayed in. Horses are sure and steady with excellent ground manners and work ethic. Cabins are large and beautifully decorated with great water pressure, cold a/c and a handy small refrigerator. The food is plentiful, varied and delicious Tammy goes the extra mile to accommodate special dietary needs. The laughs and lively conversations are also plentiful and completely non-fattening. Could go on and on with the raves. Would I go back? You bet. See more..

  9. 5.0 College World Series (35 reviews)
    - Classic college sports experience
    Sporting Events
    College World Series image
I did not pick the right CWS to attend. The heat index was over 100 degrees and my team got blown out in historic fashion. Still, the CWS is a fun event. All the teams have fans here but it's a less competitive atmosphere compared to football or basketball. Since Omaha has always been the home of the CWS, there's a sense that it's a destination event like the Rose Bowl. The stadium itself is also a good one for the event. Modern with a nice downtown view and large enough, with good sightlines from most of the seats. See more..

    Monument Valley Pathway image
We had come a long way to see this. And I myself was pleasantly surprised as it isnt my thing, my husband chose the location to visit. But it was beautiful. We got there ar 545pm on June 9 and the visitors centre was closing at 6 and they werent allowing people to drive up the road till 9am the next morning. But the view of the area were amazing, the lighting added to that. It is well worth a visit. We had a quick look around the visitors centre which was very informative even for the short amount of time we were in there. We came back the following morning for opening at 9am so we could drive up to the top. What lovely views. There is a little walk you can do for more pics. You will need to keep small children under control as I cant remember any railings. See more..
  21. 4.5 Go Ape Zipline & Adventure Park (94 reviews)
    - Fun time with the family!
Monday: Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
Go Ape Zipline & Adventure Park image
My family of 4 did the Tree Top Adventure & Zip Lining experience. Myself & spouse are 50, and our kids are 19 & 16. We all LOVED the experience! I personally am afraid of heights, especially when they're moving (like a stopped ferris wheel). However, I did fine for the most part. Only had one panic attack and the instructor was patient and encouraging, helping to talk me through it and calm me down so that I could continue. One thing to know is that if you do find yourself having a panic attack that you can't push through, there's no escape route or any way of getting down (that I saw or can think of) because you're secured the entire time. The obstacles & zip lines were SO FUN! I only wish the zip lines were longer. Definitely bring a change of clothes because you could be landing in mulch on your backside. There's also advantages and disadvantages to being both short & tall. Short->you're standing on your toes a lot to get through. Tall->you're bumping your head a lot. :-D See more..

This is a very engaging museum with exhibits on The Canteen, Early Settlers, and lots of old stuff and antiques. My dad had experienced The Canteen in 1945 while en route to his first ship, USS Henrico, which was in port on the West Coast. We had a great time exploring the collection of history in the main building. Outside, were many buildings: log cabins from old Fort McPherson, a cabin used by the Pony Express, a two story house ordered from the Sears Catalog, Brady Union Pacific Railroad Depot, Main Street Shops, and others. They were all well maintained and in excellent condition. We had a wonderful time experiencing this aspect of history. See more..

    - One of the best state parks we have visited!
    State Parks
    Ponca State Park image
This was one of the best state parks we have visited recently. Admission for non-Nebraska residents was $12, but wait, because we paid admission at another park yesterday and arrived here before noon today, there was no charge! There is an excellent visitor center and interpretive center about the Missouri, and for us it was great to go to the overlook and see the unchannelized Missouri. There are walking trails which we opted to skip, but the park has much to offer visitors, including rental cabins. If you’re interested in Lewis and Clark, this is an especially good stop. See more..

    Chadron State Park image
We spent the weekend at Chadron State Park in one of their duplex cabins. I was disappointed to find satellite TV and internet, but my boys were happy. If you are a clean freak, this may not be for you. We had a mouse or rat get into our van and clean up after the kids. Lots of great trails for us to take the dogs with us on. The Trading Post was were my husband and oldest son spent most evenings. They were able to do archery and tomahawk throwing for $1.50 for 30 minutes. They even had figurines for the kids to paint. 39. 4.5 America's 20th Century Veterans' Memorial (57 reviews)
    - Amazing
    Monuments & Statues
America's 20th Century Veterans' Memorial image
We’ve seen this place countless times on our drive to Iowa but he never wanted to stop. This time I was lucky and he stopped so I could wander around. The sculptures are lifelike and well carved. And even better, a likeness and snippet is provided of the sculptors at the base of the statues. I liked being able to read about both the subject and the person who made the sculptures. It was sad to run my fingers over the names printed on the bricks in the memorial. You can get a brick printed with a veteran’s name but I didn’t have time to investigate further as we were short on time. But I’m glad we stopped. It’s definitely a good stop to remember the cost of war and appreciate the many sacrifices made by our veterans. See more..
