Parque Regional de Calblanque, Region of Murcia, Spain

4.5 (253 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Region of Murcia Parks

Beautiful coastal scenery, rugged hills, lovely beaches

Large area of hills, beaches, and coastal scenery. There are several hiking paths around and over the hills or along the coast. You can even walk along a Roman road. We visited in October, we were able to drive within 300 meters of the Playa Larga beach. There is little shade, the coastal trail was well marked. If you go west along the coastal trail you come to the Playa Negrete, which is popular with nudists. Access to the Playa Larga beach road is prohibited from 8pm to 9am.

    A total gem
Where do I start. We have a house close by in Roda and my husband wanted to take our 9 year old son swimming in the sea. We had a look online and found this park was a short drive away. In summer you drive to the car park and then there is a bus service which brings you down to the beach. This protects the surrounding area and keeps down traffic. The bus is every half hour and cost about €7.50 return for the 3 of us. You could decide to walk down to the strand but in the heat the air con on the coach was most welcome. The bus stop has a shaded area and two portacabin Wc. I also noticed they offer cone ashtrays which you can borrow and use while on the beach.. There was plenty of paths with different walks and mountains which you can climb if the beach isn't really your thing. The sun was lovely and the water safe for swimming. My son loved seeing the fish swimming beside them. There does not appear to be any cafe or shops so perhaps bring a picnic and plenty of water if you intend to wander any of the trails. We saw many people out running or using mountain bikes. We decided to walk back to the car park which is about a 4k walk slightly uphill but with many areas to explore on the way. We will definitely return as this park is a total gem and well worth a visit.

    Cliffs, Beaches and Mountains
Breathtaking Regional Park of Murcia - unspoiled beaches, with dramatic backdrop of cliffs and mountains. We visit in pre- and post summer for quiet walks along the shoreline.
