    Social experiment meets camping trip meets midnight rave, Fusion Festival is a one-of-a-kind event providing a four-day getaway into a carnival community. ‘Four days of holiday communism’ is the festival’s tagline, which is what appeals to the crowds of people who turn up in Lärz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in northeastern Germany, looking for freedom, a better world, and a desire to be free. In a former Russian airfield, the explorers arrive in late June and set up a communal camp among the trees. Soon after, the music, theater, and cinema hits Mecklenburg to bring the weekend’s entertainment. While the main genre continues to be electronic there is no set musical agenda and attendees are encouraged to bring their own instruments.
