KARSTADT is one of the biggest German shopping malls (like TESCO) and was founded here, in little sweet Wismar on the 14th of May 1881. What a surprise and showing that economy in Germany was never always driven in the big cities, but also in other places across the country. Today the chain has some 80 stores across the country and is well knon with every German citizen. The store itself is nothing special, but the building is nicely restored and has this historical touch, which makes it worth visiting. Do not expect too much, but a place, where history took place.
