It is a big farm of butterflies really beautiful and unique situated not far from the railway station at Trassenheide on Usedam Island. We had impression that only some of species were interested in feeding so it was easy to take pictures of them. Those most attractive were not stopping for admiration, always too quick or too high. If you want to study all species go to the huge section of pinned butterflies and you can compare colours and sizes living around the world. Comparing with other butterflies exhibition the entry price is high (14 Euros) and you need 2 Euros for 24 hour car park even if you use it for 2 hours.See more..

When you are visiting Rügen you cannot avoid going to this village. It has everything - a nice shopping area, good food ( forget any low carb diet for that day as the homemade cake is just devine), and so much to do for children. It has outdoor activities and playgrounds and gemstone cave for kids, a cinema, tractor riding as well as an amazing indoor playground. This makes Karls a very good alternative if the weather is bad which can happen especially during the winter season. We also loved following the various showcases (making strawberry jam, candy and bread). It is also a great place to buy souvenirs or gifts.
