An amazing experience. We the did Guided Tour Fort Sint Pieter (English) and Guided Tour North Caves (English). Both tours were an hour each. Tom was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable & witty. The tours are just outside the city centre. I would recommend walking as the bus takes just as long or longer if your bus driver gets confused and drops you off in Belgium!See more..
4.5Boekhandel Dominicanen(2.791 reviews) - Charming bookstore in gothic century church Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings • Scenic Walking Areas
Absolutely charming! The store is a sight to see and offers three stories of books and wonderment. There’s a modest English section on the second floor as well as a few old/antique books on the top floor. The books are priced quite high comparative to other shops but it’s worth it for the visit and a nice espresso in the accompanying cafe. See more..
4.0Designer Outlet Roermond(2.388 reviews) - Very crowded Thursday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Shopping Malls
The outlet was really great and although they charge you for parking I think the price is very appropriate. The outlet looks beautiful and the stores are great! When I visited it was absolutely crowded which caused some queues so I would suggest to visit early. Great staff nice contact especially on social media. See more..
After a 3 year delay we got to see 'Andre' in The Vrijithof. It's a unique experience with lots of new material and some old favourites. Despite cancellations new tickets were issued with delay. 4.5GaiaZOO(1.368 reviews) - Very beautiful zoo! Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Zoos
An unforgettable zoo experience. GaiaZOO offers a breath-taking view of the world of animals and wildlife. In GaiaZOO you can travel around the world in one day; imagine you are in the African Savannah and get a close view of the world’s most beautiful animals like the mighty gorillas, enormous rhinos, stately giraffes and the king of the animals; the impressive lions. In the Rainforest you will discover all sorts of swinging and climbing monkeys; in the squirrel monkey forest they even climb through the trees over your head. GaiaZOO offers an unforgettable day trip for the whole family. Open every day of the year from 10.00 o ‘clock.See more..
Toverland confirms to be one of the most promising theme park in Europe, especially after the huge investments of 2018. The atmosphere is pure magic, the coaster lineup is solid (Troy and Fenix alone are worth the trip) and the side attractions, like Expedition Zork and Djengu River are very well themed and fun. Only one complaint, which is a constant in all my visits. They have this annoying habit to use one train in every coaster even with the park packed. Especially now, in coronavirus times, with trains not at full capacity they should seriously reconsider their policy. Honorable mention for the staff, always polite, nice and prepared. See more..
4.0Drielandenpunt(1.169 reviews) - Better than expected Thursday: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Parks
We came here expecting to be about an hour or so but ended up staying 5 hours Parking was €2.50 ( but the machine didn't accept visa or Mastercard, only Maestro cards) . After that hurdle we did the obligatory pics in 3 countries at once and then moved onto the Maze ( Labyrint) . It was good fun with water obstacles and actually is hard to find the centre . The restaurant queue for burgers and fries was quite long but the food was reasonably priced and not bad for this kind of location. We then climbed the tower to see great views of the 3 countries . We even spotted a Skydeck tower through the trees and walked to that one too. There is a gift shop , play area and lots of bike and walking trails . It can be a quick stop but also a full day here depending on your interests , but either way its worth a visit. Staff were all helpful and friendly. See more..

4.0Market Square(992 reviews) - Beautiful square great for people watching Points of Interest & Landmarks
A lovely square in centre of Maastricht. The town hall is imposing and we loved the melodic bells chiming on the hour. It has lots of little bars and cafes and is lovely to sit in and watch the world go by. Seats can be in the sun or the shade and drink prices reasonable. €5 for a glass of wine. Mr H and I found it had a lovely friendly atmosphere and service at the bars was quick with lots of choice.See more..
This majestic church had a much different vibe than many of the other amazing churches I’ve visited. Absolutely stunning interior with many painted wood sculptures. The dim lighting gave it a more calm, yet serious feel to it. I would highly recommend visiting and lighting a candle or sitting in the pews and taking in the full experience. I loved the visit!See more..

4.5Fort Sint Pieter(615 reviews) - An Amazing Experience By The Best Tour Guide I’ve Experienced Historic Sites
I dislike guided tours in general but I was blown away by this one. What a pleasure it was to listen and observe our tour guide Ernest. He was passionate and electric, knowing and curious. Everything you look for in a tour guide! He was able to paint us a visual picture in a really approachable way. Not a single second of the tour was boring. I truly wish all tour guides were like Ernest! If I could, I would like him to join us in our tour around Netherlands just because of how vibrant he was and how it transformed everything we had the luxury of hearing.See more..

4.5Hertog Jan Brouwerij(271 reviews) - Hertog Jan's brewery has the same prestige as their famous Grand Prestige Breweries
Nice brewery in the south of the Netherlands. Specialized in their range of crafters of which the Grand Prestige is exquisite and world renowned. The brewery gives nice insight in the process of brewing and assembling as well as the raved oak aged versions annually sold out within minutes. These small batches are layered on oak used previously for wines, cognacs, whiskeys, etc. The fuse of tastes is absolutely phenomenal. Visiting the section where the beer ages on barrels adds to the experience of visiting the cellar where Grand Prestiges of all years are aging. Places and bottles can be reserved and once aged 5-6 years can be collected at the brewery. The experience is great and very personal, as are the tours at the brewery.See more..

4.0Sint Janskerk(247 reviews) - Great Climbing Tower; Church in need of Refurbishment Historic Sites • Observation Decks & Towers • Religious Sites
The inside of the church is like many other churches and has many historic graves on the floor. As you look around you do see that the church is seeking funding to refurbish the ceiling and parts that showing the age of the church. For a few Euros, you can climb to the top of the red tower and get a great view of the valley and city. Th climb is about 200 steps so plan on the long climb. There is a history room about 1/3 the way up the stairs and a great place to rest. IT is tight squeeze to get by the people coming up and going down...do not bring a backpack on the stairs. The church is a very nice place and lots of history of the Reformation.See more..

4.5Museum De Locht(85 reviews) - A great small open air museum! Speciality Museums
The relatively small open air museum presents an incredible amount of exhibits, which are really presented in such a convincing way that when you "travel" back in time, you think that the inhabitants have just left the workshops or homes. To prevent you from getting lost in the buildings, some of which are very crooked, a circular route is signposted. The explanations are only in Dutch, but there is a leaflet with a map of the site also in other languages. The museum's detailed website has also been translated into English and German. The volunteers present are very friendly and helpful. It is nice that they make the site accessible by their willingness. There is a cafeteria in the entrance area and if there are more visitors, there is another one in the mushroom house. Lastly, it should be noted that free parking is available and that the museum is also interesting for children of any age. There are often special activities and special exhibitions.See more..
