    Museum Catharijneconvent image
Museum is great for lovers of christian art. You will learn a lot through out the 3 floors. They offer free audio guides in english. Not all of the displayed art has signs in english. When we visited the rooms were really cold so I wouldn't recommend wearing just a tank top. The staff was very very nice. See more..

Okay it was all in Dutch but what a little gem of a museum. Even a disinterested teenager enjoyed wandering round. Filed a pleasant couple of hours and a nice, inexpensive cafe for a snack or coffee. See more..

The museum concerns Netherlands' history of using water engineering as a defensive mechanism, and it is presented in really innovative ways - interactive exhibitions and state of the art 4D movies all housed in a beautiful modern architecture masterpiece. The museum gave me a lot of insight into Netherlands' military history See more..

The mannenzaal, or men's hall is a very interesting historic site in the beautiful town of amersfoort.! We went during the special weekend where monuments were all open to the public for free. What an interesting place! The actors, in traditional dress really helped to bring the place to life. An amazing place to visit, See more..

  9. 4.0 MOA (32 reviews)
    - MOA is one of a kind

    MOA image
The MOA museum is one of a kind. The staff is helpful, kind, professional and they certainly seem to know everything about the exhibitions (Chinese wallpaper, Dutch artist Armando, history of the estate). The building itself is part of the Amelisweerd estate and has been thoroughly restaured and refurbished throughout the past few years. If you happen to be in the neighbourhood...go there. And if you're not around....go there as well. You won't be disappointed. See more..

This museum offers a complete overview of the total history of the Dutch cavalry. A collection of small to big items from over a century ago till now. Nice museum for everybody who is interested. The museum has free parking for cars and bicycles. Since it's on military ground, access is only possible after showing your ID (passport, ID card or drivers licence). The museum is good accessible with a wheelchair. Staff is friendly and helpful. Information on signs is only available in Dutch. Time to spend is about 2,5 hours. Opening hours are narrow. Stadsmuseum Veenendaal image
A small museum about the local area and its history, located in the same building as the local library. Signposting to the museum could be improved. It contains an interesting display of artefacts related to cutting peat (for use as fuel). Also useful information about a devastating flood which affected the town. See more..

  16. 5.0 St. Grebbelinie In Het Vizier (1 review)
    - Bezoek waard!

St. Grebbelinie In Het Vizier image
Zeker langsgaan!

  17. 5.0 Museum Het Hernhutter Huis (1 review)
    - Zeer interessant!
Wednesday: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM History Museums
We werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen.
