4.0Museum de Fundatie(808 reviews) - Great museum in an unique glass building in Zwolle Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Speciality Museums
Great museum in an unique round glass egg shaped building located in Zwolle, Netherlands . I visited Zwolle solely to see this beautiful museum with great architecture. Worth seeing arts on display as well including Marc Chagall, Piet Mondrian or Vincent van Gogh. End your visit with a coffee on the last floor and enjoy the landscape on a rainy weekend trip.See more..
4.0Rijksmuseum Twenthe(211 reviews) - Excellent museum, most import works of Artemisia Gentileschi Speciality Museums
Excellent museum! Took a trip to Enschede only to visit Rijksmuseum Twenthe and was not disappointed. My favorite works on display were by baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi, the most important representatives of Italian painting, a symbol of the struggle against patriarchy. Entry fee: 15 EUR or free if you hold a Museumkaart. The museum has a nice garden with a terrace where you can enjoy a walk along other art works on display or a coffee.See more..
When we visited this museum some years ago the entrance was through a somewhat modest building and free parking round the corner. Today the museum offers a extensive forecourt with beside the improved museum entrance, a nice restaurant annex micro brewery. The museum is about the history of the Ootmarsum area, showing buildings, implements and dioramas about daily life. This open air museum is very interesting; entrance for a fee, free entrance with the annual Dutch museum pass. Limited metered parking only in the vicinity. I recommend to park in one of the free parking lots and use the (approximately) 10 minutes walk to visit the charming historic center of Ootmarsum.See more..
4.0De Museumfabriek(145 reviews) - Great museum with original style Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
We really enjoyed the museum visit with our toddler who could run around and get genuinely interested in the topics that were presented in the museum such as the birds flight, ice age animals etc. It would take approximately 1,5-2h per group if you are with children. They also Have a large wall with Twente painters work that is nice to see during the visit. We certainly recommend it for a morning or an afternoon both for groups with or without children.See more..

4.5Museum Giethoorn 't Olde Maat Uus(98 reviews) - Very interesting of the life of the Dutch in Giethoorn Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
Start your visit to Giethoorn in Museum Giethoorn 't Olde Maat Uus! The museum is located in an original historical farmhouse. It is the only place in Giethoorn where you can see how people lived more than 100 years ago and how they earned a meagre living by cutting peat and building small boats (‘punters’).See more..

4.0Oyfo Techniekmuseum(84 reviews) - Technical heritage of Hengelo. A great afternoon out. Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
Looking for a place to visit on a Sunday afternoon??? Opens at 12:00 and closes at 17:00. Did not have enough time to visit it all. Too many little gems to get lost in. Suitable for young and old. The older can see all the technical changes and reminisce. The younger get a history lesson. A lot of the information is only in Dutch but that does not detract from the experience. We had a super time looking at all the pressure gauges, engines and electrical tech on the ground floor. Moved on to the first floor to experience telephony and then to the second for a trip down video game memory lane. It is only a few minutes walk from Hengelo train station. It has plenty of toilet provision and a cafe. For those who need it there is a lift. See more..
4.0Museum de Fundatie(83 reviews) - Pim Trooster - Interventions & Martin Roemers - Relics of the Cold War Speciality Museums
Currently there are two great temporary exhibitions in castle Het Nijenhuis - the second location "in the green" of Museum de Fundatie of Zwolle. Pim Troosters makes highly imaginative contemporary art which he has interspersed into the permanent collection in the castle - taking into account the art that surrounds his piece. Interventions very well done! Martin Roemers shows a good collection of somewhat moody photographs, documented the fall and decline of military installations associated with the cold war - mostly in Eastern Europe but also in the Netherlands. These are exhibited in a separate building on site. Afterwards a stroll through the beautiful sculpture garden and a coffee in the museum cafe make for a complete day of art entertainment.See more..

Went here for a family celebration with people ranging from 14 to nearly 80. High tea was high quality, everything fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly and courteous. There's a small shop on the same level where Bolletje bakery items are sold and a tiny museum up the steps.See more..

This house and estate should not be forgotten when you are in the Denekamp area. The house only permits guided tours (only limited possibilities) but these are very interesting as the interior is overwhelming with very rare species. The gardens are also very nice. Don't miss this!See more..

4.5Museumbezoek Villa Rams Woerthe(50 reviews) - Villa Rams Woerhe ,national Dutch monument .built in Art Nouveau Style Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Speciality Museums
Villa Rams Woerthe is the first 'Museumhuis' of Vereniging Hendrick the Keyser. This beautifull villa is a highligt of Jugendstil and art nouveau in Holland. Visitors are invited to enjoy the villa with all their senses: open the doors and cupboards, feel the linnen and sit down on the sofa. Experience what it was like to be a rich merchant in the 1900's. The city of Delden lies in the heart of the salt mining region in the Netherlands. Here in the city of Delden in 1888 (by chance) salt deposits were proven to exist. Since 1918 the "Koninklijke Nederlandse Zoutindustrie" (Royal Dutch Salt Enterprise) has been active in this region with extracting salt from the salt deposits far underground. The "Koninklijke Nederlandse Zoutindustrie" is one of the predecessors and now part of the Akzo Nobel multinational. It is therefore appropriate that in Delden the "Zoutmuseum" (Salt museum) is established. This museum is dedicated to the properties, use, health benefits and dangers of salt (referred to of course is kitchen salt NaCl). Use and value of salt through the ages, salt extraction and refining and a collection of salt shakers form an unexpectedly interesting exhibition. This museum is to be recommended. Entrance is for a moderate fee. Free entrance with the Dutch annual museum pass.See more..
We went to this museum with our six year old daughter and had a great time. There were some interesting interactive displays and my daughter loved the Funky Forest!! We also did the walk outside which displays the different natural landscapes of the area.See more..

4.0Rijssens Museum(31 reviews) - One of the best local history museums Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
The Rijssens museum now includes the the firefight museum, something which is not indicated (well) on the websites. It is located in a castle and one of its annexes. The firefight museum is spread over two floors of the annex building, and shows some old carriages used by the fire brigade. There's also helmets, uniforms, and tools used by the firemen. There are no fire trucks, only old carriages which could still be operated by hand. The ground floor shows items related to the industries in Rijssen, such as the textile industry, and an oven which melted during its first use. In the castle there are many paintings of the surrounding landscape. There is a nice style room, and a room filled with family scenes from about 100 years ago. The attic is really nice with a large collection of ironing bolts and other old household items, mainly for doing the laundry. Traditional clothing is represented as well. Well worth a visit.See more..

4.0Nationaal Tinnen Figurenmuseum(21 reviews) - Another interesting heritage importance Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums • History Museums
It's good to learn about other cultures and heritage and this was very interesting as the work that has gone into 99% of the figures and items in this museum is so intricate it is unbelievable. It's a definate must visit when your there!!See more..
I had a wonderful time visiting this store/museum with my daughters. It was impressive to see the wide range of prices that ensured something special for all shoppers. We loved visiting this shop and it made our trip to Giethoorn all the more memorable.See more..
the geert groote huis (ggh) is a fantastic, modern-day structure. however, more interesting, is the namesake of museum. geert groote was one of the most reknown forward thinker of his time. he was very much for the poor of his time. he wanted, most of all, to educate the poor. and, he was also mindful of the plight of single mothers and orphans. i found my visit to be extremely educational.
Such a cool museum with a beautiful assortment of vintage motorcycles! If you like motorcycles & are in Holland, it is worth the trip to this charming area & very cool museumSee more..
The weaver's house is small. Nevertheless there are quite many items on display in the old house, including two weaving machines. In the neighbouring house there is a 'mooi kamer', a representative room of a century or so ago. They could use a little more exhibition space. Also, the museum is not well indicated on the street signs, but it is next to the nicest looking church.See more..
The store on top is a party store. Look for the address plate on the outside of the shop that lets you know the museum is there. The owner is extremely friendly and invested. He, after all, is a SInterklaas himself. He showed me where the museum was and told me a bit about himself and about Zwolle's tradition and asked where I was from. He allows you to look around the tiny museum at your leisure. If you do not know about Zwart Piet you may want to look into it before you go because he is definitely a different entity than we have in the states and that part of the collection may make you curious or change your impression of the museum. There are a few small items for sale that are Sinterklaas related. If you love Santa or different holiday traditions around the world then I recommend you stop by if you are in Zwolle. The fee is super reasonable. It will not take much time out of your visit and since I was visiting at the holidays it seemed a great time to go by.See more..
Aan de buitenkant verwacht je niet dat het zo'n leuk museum is. Er worden leuke activiteiten voor kinderen georganiseerd. Een aanrader voor gezinnen.See more..

I was in Staphorst last summer ..I recommend visiting the museum in July and August ,on Wednesdays ,when there are open activities in the yard of the old farm .and you can take pictures .Staphorst is a closed protestant village with strict rules ,where 1800 villagers still wear old traditional costumes .On Sunday 2000 villagers go to church ,then you are not allowed to take pictures . The village is a delight ...I liked the farms ,the green doors ,the local folklore ,the local gardens full of flowers .The museum is a picture of an old farm ,like a Dutch painting ...you can visit the village in an hour .See more..

4.5Emaille En Bromfiets Museum(4 reviews) - This quirky museum has enamelware in the restaurant and mopeds on the second floor Speciality Museums • History Museums
This family-run vacation spot (cabins, pool, restaurant, and more) also has hundreds of enamelware pieces decorating the restaurant, which can be seen for free, and a moped museum which is only open on Thursdays and Saturdays for guided tours (2 euros per person). We arrived on Saturday about 1/2 hour after the tour started, but the owner (and moped collector) Jacob provided a private tour in English for us when he finished the first tour. He is enthusiastic about his varied collection, which spans over half a century, and he gives you a music CD that he made as a parting gift! It's a quirky museum, but we love discovering gems like this when we travel.See more..
PS Aero is per begin november echter gesloten tot april 2017.See more..
